Hazy golden coloured body with a thick, dense off-white head. Aroma of fresh citrus hops, a lot of yeast, ton of malt and a nice coriander seed freshness not usually picked up with this style. Medium-bodied; Assertive hoppy flavour at first with a pungent spicey and yeastie kick, then showing more of a wit flavour with a decent amount of hops. Aftertaste shows dryness and a touch hoppy character with a good malt backbone and some serious spicey and yeastie flavours coming through at the end. Overall, a nice and rather different IPA - slightly witty, but definitely still hoppy. A nice American IPA and definitely worth trying if you can find it. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Merchant’s in Dearborn, Michigan on 28-April-2011 for US$1.79 sampled this American beer at home today, after visiting the Pentagon on the ten year anniversary of 9/11, two blocks south of the Pentagon on 11-September-2011. God Bless everyone affected and their families on this occasion.

Sweet 12oz bonus bottle courtesy of GhostFace. It pours clear deep gold with white head and lasting white ring of foam. The aroma has bitter spicy hops, earthy sort of wet grass hops and then sweet malts in the background. OK, damn I’m liking the flavor of this IPA. It delivers some chewy clean malts pushing into a mix of bitter spicy and slightly dank spicy hops and some grapefruit like citrus hops. To midway and into the finish are echoes of citrus and floral hop flavor but a good deal of citrus and spicy hops are still there and linger into the after taste.

Frankenmuth,MI, home of Andy Brown... Poured from a 12oz bottle... Color is burnt orange with a two finger head, looks like a decent IPA... Not much on the aroma side, some faint citrus is all I get... Taste like a homebrewed IPA from an extract kit... Yeah, very average.... Will buy again though when the time is right.

12 oz bottle from Blue Dog. Since 1862, wow. Pours medium gold with 2-finger white head. Nose is citric hops, mild vegetal, rock candy, florals, pale malt. Tastes hoppy, somewhat sweet and marmaladey, with some metallic and floral resiny finishing notes. Meh.

Bottle. Pours a pale yellowish gold. Nice 2 finger head that leaves some good lacing. Aromas are... you guessed it; floral citrus notes and pine. The taste is bitter grapefuit and herbal pine, and some bready malt for ¿balance? Well carbonated, but still relatively light bodied. A rather average IPA IMHO.

Bottle… Florida Craft Beer and Wing Fest 2012… Clear golden ale with orange highlights and a small, creamy, white head. Good retention. The olfactory highlights consist mainly of citrusy, floral hops. Medium-bodied and lightly creamy with stinging carbonation. The flavor is dry and a touch astringent with tannic, rindy hop bitterness that outshines the malts. Finishes crisp, bitter and a tad abrasive.

Bottled. Poured medium-golden with a short-lived white head. The aroma picked up juicy grapefruit over sweet caramel and pale malts.. not too exciting, but no real complaints. The flavor found mostly pale malts with a pinch of honey at the core.. grapefruit and pine bitterness around.. quite sweet on the finish. Light-medium bodied with decent balance on the palate.. not.great, but very drinkable.

Bottle thanks to portableparty! Clear dark orange pour, spotty carbonation and a light stale hop aroma. Flavor is light orange citrus, medium amount of maltiness and some light resiny hops. Not bad, but nothing more than average.

Bottle. Pours clear amber with a white soapy head that fades to a film with some spotty lacing. Aroma is earthy and floral with some herbal notes and malt. Taste has a good hop bite with floral and pine. There is a ton of malt which comes off like bread and biscuits. Palate is medium and sticky with a very dry finish. Nothing negative to say. Decent!

Kind of an old school IPA. Served at a good temp. Head was foamy, frothy, off white, Aroma was hop, malt, resin, wet grain. Flavor is similar, hops seem to me to be Cluster and Cascade, carbonic tang. Body and carbonation are good. Finish is like flavor. Ok beer.

Courtesy of Strykzone. Poured a cloudy amber. Nose of fruit and some citrus. Medium in body and clean in mouthfeel. The flavor is citrus hops with some additional floral nuances on caramel malts. Dry bitter finish. Almost aspires to be an IPA. Quite drinkable.
