Saled at an esbls tasting. Thanks Joe. A big gushing head. Hazy and light brown. Soft English hops in the aroma with light caramel. Thecflavor has some gentle hops with some spice and yeast.

Amber-orange with a thin quickly fading off-white head. Aroma of citrus, fruit, toffee and pale malt. Taste is dusty with pale malt, mild hops and low bitterness. Okay but bland.

Bottle- pours as a nice toffee color. Not much carbonation. Slight toffee smell also, with a bit of an acrid ending. Tastes a bit sweeter than most IPAs with some hop ending. Not as hoppy as expected. Aftertaste left after a sip is not too good. I suppose that is the "earthy" element.

Bottle. Pine hops and toffee malt aroma. Slightly hazy amber and off-white head. Moderately bitter pine/grapefruit hops and mild toffee malt flavor. Nicely blended. Tasty.

Moderate and medium describe this beer perfectly. Little hops in either aroma or taste.

Six pack from the local Walgreens which is stocking several Frankenmuth varieties. Pour from a 12 oz bottle. Dark, cloudy amber brew with a decent head that settles down to a persistent froth. Solid aroma dominated by a caramel malt and wiff of floral hops. Flavor is a very well balanced blend of sweetish caramel malts with a solid but restrained hoppiness in the finish. A very sold brew, very well crafted and refined. Very nice palate, no off flavors. It doesn’t strike me so much as an IPA - especially a modern IPA - as a nicely hopped amber ale. But that must be why they distinguish it as an English IPA - and I aint complaining, this is tasty!

On tap at the brewpub.
I actually thought this was one of their better beers. Light gold with some off white head. Aroma was a bit on the milder side, light floral hop along with some malt. Malt comes through a bit more on the palate, decently bitter but not too much. Well balanced.
2.3 AROMA 1/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20 fuckbudlight (49) - Michigan, USA - NOV 28, 2010
One of the better beers out of Frankenmuth, but still nothing too spectacular. Fairly floral and piney, nice aftertaste of biting hops. Not much nose. I’m not much of an IPA person, but I enjoyed this IPA (more of a stand-alone beer than the others on tap).
3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Petkus331 (77) - Redford, Michigan, USA - NOV 28, 2010
Not much aroma in this brew, mildly floral. The flavor was predominantly floral "sweetness," followed by medium to light hop bitterness, and a touch of resin on the end. The color was a yellowish orange. The head was big and frothy. Generally, this was a light IPA, but not to light to not be enjoyed as an IPA.
