3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle… Florida Craft Beer and Wing Fest 2012… Pours a clear, deep amber with a mid-sized, creamy, off-white head. Fantastic retention. The nose is quite faint and nearly nondescript, but I am able to pull delicate shades of caramel malt and other toasted grains from the glass. Medium-bodied and almost fatty with tickling carbonation. Well-balanced flavor – gentle components of caramel, toasted grain and some mashiness. Finishes crisp, clean and refreshing… much like every other beer in the Frankenmuth line.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle. Aroma has huge notes of cereal malts, caramel and toast. Deep red mahogany hue with a small off-white head that mostly diminished and left little lace. Flavor is medium sweet. Palate is medium bodied and watery average. Overall a good example of the style. Nice caramel malt character and enjoyable to drink.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20
Weak aroma....some hints of toasted malt and caramel, but little else. Flavor is pretty malty, with biscuit and toasted malt up front, followed by some hops and a chocolate finish. Body is thin and watery

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
UPDATED: JUL 10, 2013 On tap at the Shark Club in Howell. Poured a deep amberish color with a small sized head. Toasty, pine, some floralness, some caramel, and some roast. Well balanced...this should not be a Brown Ale....an Amber Ale if anything.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
12oz bottle poured into a Samuel Adams "Perfect Pint" glass.
Appearance: A crystal clear dark amber/brown color with about two fingers worth of a somewhat creamy and bubbly head. Lacing is actually really quite nice, considering the lack of much of a head.
Smell: When I first cracked the bottle open, I got a whiff of soy sauce. That smell at least faded away. Afterwards, I didn’t get much else. A faint note of malt with a metallic smell as well. Very "blah".
Taste/feel: Quite muted, like the aroma. Pretty sweet with malts, and dark fruits or something like that. The biggest turn off for me here is what I seem to get in some beers -- a Diet Coke aftertaste. Not to say it tastes like Coke, but it has that artificial sweetener taste. Maybe some sort of fruit extract? I don’t know. Not a very interesting beer, but quite drinkable... it would be much MORE drinkable if it weren’t for that fake sugar taste. The feel on this beer is the best part about it... pretty lightly carbonated with a somewhat creamy feel.
Overall, it’s just not that great of a beer. Bad by no means, but the beer would be much better if it had more of an aroma to it, and didn’t have that odd, unnatural tasting aftertaste.

3.1 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pour from a 12 oz bottle. Medium amber brew with a thin head. Pleasant aroma dominated by caramel malts. Sweet caramel malt dominates the start of the swallow with the finish transitioning to a burnt/roasted malt and modest hoppiness that adds dryness to the finish. Good!

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Sampled from a bottle,
this beer has a clear red-brown pour with some rust colors, it made a one finger or so off-white bubbled head, there was very little lacing, there was a thin layer of dark sediment on the bottom of the bottle,
this ale had aromas of light roasted malt, caramel and some nut, there was a little malt and bread like sweetness,
the flavors were light roasted malt, nut, some caramel and caramel sweetness, the flavors pretty much follow the aromas,
there was some bitterness at the finish and left the palate a little dry,
a nice drink
