Simple and forgettable Discount pale beer. The price/quality ratio isn’t bad, compared to other cheap beers of the same category, the Askania is a fair choice. Not much more than that

Dorqui (2056) - Brescia, ITALY - MAY 25, 2010
Canned 0,50L. Creamy head and of good duration. Limpid yellow color, discreet bubbly even if enough evanescent one. Light aroma of cereals, dreid grassy. Gaunt taste, little lively, pleasant bitter content, hardly perceivable alcohol.

Bottle, 3.5%. Slightly rough hop aroma. Clear golden colour. Small white head. The flavour has a thin malt note, a bit watery. Good mouthfeel for ABV.

Bottle brown, 500 ml
Appearance:Pours thin yellow, perfectly clear body, strongly and vividly carbonated, head is practically non existant, behaves like in a fizy drink, and vanishes completely after a minute.
Aroma:Not very interesting, very faint, but somehow sweet, rice, warm urine, water after a boiled rice, rice crips, if any not much pleasant, warm piss evaporation.
Flavour:Generally like completely watered Pale Lager. First sip is no flavour at all, practically like a good quality mineral water, highly carbonated and soft, easy going and neutral. Practically no taste at all. Neither malty sweetness nor hoppy bitterness, thin but fresh and not dull. Finish duration is short.
Palate:Body is very light, texture is like water, carbonation on palate is soft. Finish feel is clean and almost wattery.

Strange history with this one. It’s available in one of the shopping mall’s networks in Poland, has no exact data about the producer - I assume that I’s brewed by Frankfurter Braukaus as they did other Askania beers in Germany and the sticker on mine said it was brewed for a company in Slubice, which is just on the other bank of the Odre from Frankfurt. Anyway, it is a supririsingly nice lightweight lager, with significant hops flavour and no sweetnees. Drinks very well. Nice surprise.
