Bottle. The pour is a perfect golden ruby color that is vibrant. The aroma is a strong wheat wine, subtle toffee. The taste is big. A tad boozy, but a solid wheatwine overall.

Sampled at GBBF 2013, London - Day 2. Pours clear, orange-gold with a creamy white head. Nose holds ripe fruits, light vanilla creme, hints of buttery toffee. Big sweet flavor, pretty boozy, with melon, orange, pine and bread. Full bodied with fine carbonation. Fairly warming in the ending with more ripe citrus, booze, bread, pine and melon. Alright but a little big.

Gravicask, one-third pint, American bar, GBBF 2013. Clear dark orange coloured body. Red oranges and mid-sweet malts on the nose. Flavours of mid-sweet malt and anise offset by a little citrus tartness. Hop bitter ending that lingers for quite a while. Well bodied. Good drinking (London Olympia 14.08.2013).

Gravity dispense at GBBF ’13, 15/08/13. Clear dark amber with a thin off white head that clears edgeward. Nose is caramel, hops, tropical fruit notes, orange rind, notes of booze, light grapefruit. Taste comprises sweet candied fruits, orange, hop presence, booze, pine resin. Full bodied, fine carbonation, hop bitterness in a boozey finish. Hopped up take on a barley wine, doesn’t really work for me, lacks depth and the booze sticks out a little too much. Still drinkable stuff but nothing I’d turn to if I wanted a decent barley wine on a winters evening.

Cask at Great British Beer Festival 2013. Poured a slightly hazy amber with a rocky beige head. Aroma of sticky malts, caramel and christmas pudding. Sweet toffee and date flavours with biscuity malt. Assertive resiny hop bitterness then comes in with some warming alcohol.

GBBF Day 2. Hazy amber beer, good pale cream coloured head. Palate is smooth and dry. Light floralness. A little spice. Sweetish peel. Touch of mango led tropical fruits. Nice creamy malt base. Very drinkable, well below it’s abv.
