Thanks to yourefragile for sharing this one. Served in a SAVOR wine glass. Pours a clear amber brown with a thin white head and no real lacing. The nose is really bad. There is a heavy plastic note along with some musty earth. The plastic is really hard to get past. From there the flavor gets a bit better with some mild sourness and a light cherry presence. A touch of earth as well. The plastic is still in the background. Overall, the nose is just far too bad and it permeates the rest of the beer. Hopefully this was just a bad bottle.

Poured a dark, but mostly translucent brown color, virtually no head. Aroma was dark fruits (raisins, figs), and slight sour notes. Flavor is sour sweetness, touch of grape and raisins. Interesting.

Draft on 02/03/12. Served in a tulip glass. Showed up at the table a murky plum/blood color with no head at all. There was an interesting aroma that grew more and more complex as things warmed up. Caramel maltiness, figs, raisins, Red Delicious apples, cherries, and SOUR grapes were all present. Some cocoa became apparent with a little warmth. Went down medium-bodied with a fairly low level of carbonation. Caramel, raisins, and figs were present upfront taste-wise. SOUR apples, cherries, and a splash of lemon juice were noticeable at the bitter end. Dashes of cocoa powder, a touch of spice, and LOTS of sour grapes throughout. Quite astringent. The alcohol was hidden rather well. Very interesting.
