Sampled on tap on 7/14/06 at the RBSG: Pours a hazy dark copper amber with a thin-lacing wispy white head. Aroma has a good piny grapefruity citrus hoppy presence with lots of bittersweet caramel malt. Body starts with a sweet, full, sticky earthy caramel maltiness and lots of fresh, bittering grapefruity hops toward a slightly warming finish.

On tap at Franklins, Hyattsville on 14 July 2006. Darkish copper colour. Slightly hazy. Loads of grassy, tangy hops. Plenty of chewy, fruity malt. Some treacle toffee. Quite sweet with a slightly sticky mouthfeel.

Pours dark opaque amber with a thin beige head. Fruity hop and toasted malt aroma. Flavor of caramel malt, complimented by some citrus and piney hops and a touch of toastiness. Long bitter finish. Decent.

An unclear dark amber beer with a thin orange head. The aroma is sweet with light notes of hops and citrus - cascade? The flavor is sweet, but also with quite a lot of alfa acid, lemon, and grapefruit. Quite nice and refreshing. I can’t tell, that this beer is 8% ABV - dangerous but nice stuff.

Draught @ Brewpub Dark brown color, light marroon tinge. Light head and lacing. Nose of bright cascade, caramel and light roast. Some grass and chewy malts. The flavor is sweet, more chewy with some raisin, brown sugar and maple notes. Delicious and savory hoppy beer. I’m just not in the mood right now. So many sweet hoppy beers in a row...

On tap at RFD during RBSG 2006. Hazy brown color with a beige head. Aroma has a discernable cherry scent to me. I sneezed when I took a drink. Very thick with a freshly mown grass flavor. Chalky mouthfeel. The finishing bitter/tartness blend is nice.

Sampled at RFD during RBSG 2006. Deep amber pour under a small creamy head of eggshell white. Dry, earthy aroma. The flavor balance is bitter, but not overly so, with an accompanying dryness. Good body and balance.

Draft at RFD, RBSG 2006. Cloudy dark brown with an off-white head. Really interesting nose; pine, malt and fresh roasted peanuts. Flavor of bitter, resinous hops with notes of peanuts (again!), carmelized sugars/molasses, lots of pine - very vibrant. Moderately sweet, ends bitter. Very full, round and creamy with subtle carbonation. Well done and pretty unique.

Murky dark brown/red colored body. More sweaty sock hops, strogn cherry and pineapple fruit cocktail scents and flavors as well. Creamy up front, which is really nice, then course and rough, but still has a good dry and scratchy hop character, like chewing on a hop pellet. Almost gritty.
