Flip top bottle with Jason and Dorrie. Pours a hazy gold with thin off white head. Nose is lactic acid, lemon rinds, barn funk, some bread. I really don’t pick up much rye but some bready notes. Somewhat thin body. Nice tart finish with some funk.

Tap. Thin light tan head, very murky ruby copper brown. Light cherry notes, slight acetic sour and sour wheat in the aroma. Flavor has some light balsamic, nicely tart, dark but sour cherry. Lighter body with tight carbonation. Like a sour light. Not bad.

Tap at Franklins in Hyattsville. Pours a full haze glowing straw. Weak white head. Berliner Weisse style funky bleu cheese nose with butter and thick dough plus lemon. Taste is sour lemonade. Very citric without any acedic/vinegar character. Pretty successful Berliner Weisse. Should be switched to that style. I like this one. Very simple and clean.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
tepid hazy lemon, light fizzy white head that evaporates to nothing. Nose is highly citric, light foot and Brett, earthy, husky, bit of bile. Flavor is biting citrus upfront, caustic grapefruit and hay leading to an earthy Brett finish, sticky and dry wheat.

Poured a slightly hazy yellow color with a small white head. Aroma has wheat, lemon, and sour citrus. Taste is mostly just tart with some wheat and lemon. Slightly skunky. Not my favorite sour, but it’s interesting.

Growler. Hazy pale golden color, small white head, scant lacing. Aroma of sour pear, dusty peaches, raw bread dough. Taste is sour and slightly funky citrus. Attic dust. Nice.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
On tap at the brewpub: pours a slightly hazy golden with a stringy-lacing white head. Has a lightly sweet pale malty nose with good light fruity puckering tartness. Starts with good effervescence and soft sweetness with some lemon citrus and vinous tartness before a drier puckering finish. True to style with good complexity throughout.

Really nice offering from Franklins. On tap on 10/17/11. Hazy orange straw pour with a thin white head. Aroma was citrus, lemon, grapefruit, a little white wine. Flavor was nicely tart with a hint of sweetness. Good mouthfeel. Not overly tart or overly sweet. Very nicely balanced. I’m really excited to see Franklins branch our with beers like this. Solid offering.
