COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our most ambitious beer to date utilized an anaerobic sour mash procedure that spanned three days to finish...ludicrous idea right? After which it was fermented with our Belgian Saison yeast at nearly 87 degrees Fahrenheit. The end result is a Sour Rye Saison that attacks you with the character of white wine and grapefruit juice.

Growler. Hazy pale golden color, small white head, scant lacing. Aroma of sour pear, dusty peaches, raw bread dough. Taste is sour and slightly funky citrus. Attic dust. Nice.

Growler, thanks Travlr! Poured a light yellow/copper color with a small white head. Aroma was sour, with a light fruit sugary note. Flavor was tart, sour citrus.

On tap at the brewpub: pours a slightly hazy golden with a stringy-lacing white head. Has a lightly sweet pale malty nose with good light fruity puckering tartness. Starts with good effervescence and soft sweetness with some lemon citrus and vinous tartness before a drier puckering finish. True to style with good complexity throughout.

Really nice offering from Franklins. On tap on 10/17/11. Hazy orange straw pour with a thin white head. Aroma was citrus, lemon, grapefruit, a little white wine. Flavor was nicely tart with a hint of sweetness. Good mouthfeel. Not overly tart or overly sweet. Very nicely balanced. I’m really excited to see Franklins branch our with beers like this. Solid offering.

Draft on 08/26/11. Came to the table a hazy amber/copper color with a skim of a beige head. A predominantly sour/vinous aroma of lemon juice, white grape juice, wheatiness, some grapefruits, spices, and a touch of caramel in the background. Went down medium-bodied. The taste started with a bit of caramel and some cereal graininess. LOADS of sour wheatiness followed. Things finished up with some tart white grape juice, sour lemon juice, and some bittering grapefruits. Plenty of spiciness, vinous notes, and touches of rye throughout. Interesting - like a saison blended with a Flemish sour.
