COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our winter warmer, an English-style old ale, is dark brown with a rich malty sweetness, notes of fruit and molasses. Bah humbug!

Muddy brown, no head. Roasty malt, brown sugar, moderate alcohol bite. Rough around the edges, but not bad.

Growler picked up from the General Store. Poured a slight mahogany brown color with a medium sized tan head. Aroma was sweet caramel, malts, touch of brown sugar. Flavor was a bit toffee, caramel. Overall a bit creamy, relatively enjoyable.

Served on draft at the brewpub. Pours a slightly hazy reddish brown color with a large tan head. Good head retention and lacing. Aroma of caramel malts with some banana notes. The taste is toffee, banana, toasted malts and a bitter hop finish. Medium-full bodied.

On tap at the brewpub: Pours a transparent deep copper amber with a thin ring of off-white head. Has a lightly sweet caramel malty nose with a touch of light fruity notes. Starts with pretty good fullness and sweet toasty caramel flavor with a touch of English hoppy bitterness and light fruity complexity before a semi-sweet finish. Very true to style and fairly drinkable.

Draft on 12/31/10. Served in a tulip glass. Came to the table a hazy mahogany color with a thick beige head. A mildly sweet aroma featuring some caramel, raisins, burnt toffee, dark chocolate, roasty coffee, and some potting soil. Medium body. The taste starts sweet with some caramel and toffee. Raisins follow. Kinda bitter at the end with dark chocolate and roasted coffee qualities. Hints of cinnamon, nutmeg, and some warming alcohol throughout. I’d have another.
