COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
An English-style Brown Porter. Rich brown appearance with chestnut hues. This porter is rich in caramel malt with notes of chocolate and roasted goodness. A generous hopping adds a touch of bitterness to balance the sweetness making this a nice session ale at 5%.

Draft at Franklins. Amber black. Nice steady head. Lots of toffee and caramel tones for a porter. An odd slightly sour touch, maybe amber malt. Lots of caramel, could easily be classified a Caramel Porter, very reminiscent of Saranac Caramel Porter, with a stronger malt base. OK, but misses the mark a little.

Tap at Franklins. Decent brown porter. Dry, some chocolate, nice roast and a bit of cola. Just lightly bitter on the finish.

Handbottle from hophead75. Pours a dark brown allowing significant light. Head is one finger and offwhite. Nose reminds me of an Old World Porter like the NG one. Musty/basementy, diacetyl, some caramel, English yeast. Flavor shows some grain, musty, mild sweetness, diacetyl and leafy hops, English character. Palate is soft mild carbonation.

from a growler. Dark brown in color with a small but lasting off white head. A good amount of caramel/brown sugar in the nose with light roast and a touch of dark fruit. Taste is moderately sweet, with caramel/toffee, with some light roast and a light to moderate hop bitterness for the style. Very nice....

On tap. Arrived at the table a deep mahogany color with a skim of a tan head. Lots of toffee, caramel, chocolate, and a touch of coffee in the aroma. Medium-bodied and kinda smooth going down. LOADS of toffee starts things off flavor-wise. Caramel, milk chocolate, and a touch of vanilla follow. Finishes with just enough of a roasted coffee bitterness to keep things from being overly sweet throughout. A very tasty offering.
