Cask gravity at Firkin Alehouse. Black beer thin off white head. Choccy not dry not overly roasted. Fruity blackcurrant blackberry flavour. Really good. Lovely. Love the choc and fruit flavours.

Cask @ The Bow Bar, Winter Beer Festival. Pours black, almost a sweet stout, i got a big dollop of sweetness/lactose some coffee with a huge amount of vanilla. I liked it, very easy to drink.

Brigadier (3095) - Clevelandish, Ohio, USA - AUG 5, 2013
On cask at the Old Silk Mill (Derby)
An unremarkable stout with a sweet edge this particular festival cask was on the radar as a new tick. I suspected it would be a bit of a novelty and it did not disappoint. There are worse stouts but I would not put Franklin near the top of my list of best UK breweries just yet.

Aroma / Appearance - The deep ruby base maintains a chestnut tint on the edges. The flat body, as it is a cask, traps the oatmeal, roasted barley, and black coffee effectively.

Flavor / Palate - Chocolate pudding pops in a glass sweeten the palate after just two small sips. Tea and coffee add the flavors of a late afternoon snack. Mild bodied and on the fluid side it is a snack in liquid form. If you want a novelty give it a try. Otherwise there are many more mainline interpretations around the area.

Dorqui (2116) - Brescia, ITALY - MAY 15, 2013
Draught at "Market Porter" - (Southwork) London . Dark impenetrable black color, poor nut head resistance. Roast malty and toasted cereals taste, notes of cocoa, bitter chocolate and ash. Much mellow taste, not very smooth, modest alcoholic palate, good persistant mouth.

Cask, Kings Head, Leicester. Dark brown with a bubbly foam. Aromas are chocolate with light roast malts and lactose. Raisins with blackberry and light roast malts. Flavours are light roast malts with dark berries. Raisins with dry, earthy hops. OK. More of a mild.
