A hazy red beer with no head. The aroma is sweet with light notes of hops and caramel. The flavor is dry toffeeish, and leads to a subdued hoppy end. Forgetable.

Clear red-brown body. Aroma is faint, but basically nutty and sweet. Taste is medium sweet and nutty, but not much else. Quite an accessible beer, but perhaps too much so.

Draft. One of the top beers out of 10 on offer. Aroma and taste of a Butterfinger bar. Interesting.

This beer rocks! Light alcohol, heavy caramel and light flowers in the aroma and flavor. Lightly bitter on the backside. Crytal clear, deep amber hue. Medium-bodied with an oily mouthfeel. Lively carbonation. Lightly pungent, lightly bitter, dry finish.

On tap at Franklins, Hyattsville on 14 July 2006. Hazy copper colour. Subtle caramel malt accents. A touch sweet. Some resinous hops come through later. Not too bad but not particularly inspiring.

Just found an old rating I had for this circa Sept 2008: Pours a deep dark copper mahogany with a thin-lacing off-white head. Aroma of toasty dark caramel and toffee maltiness with some grainy character and noble hops. Body starts with average fullness and effervescent carbonation with some lightly sweet toasty maltiness and a drier earthy bittering hop presence before a crisp bittersweet finish. An ok red ale, but could use a more assertive hop character.

Draught @ Brewpub Amber, ruby color. Light head and lacing. Nose of light toffee and caramel, some light hops. Flavor is semi-sweet. Not that fun or noteworthy. I’m moving on...
