COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This brown ale is in the style of a classic English dark mild with touches of roasted malt character and subtle sweetness.

On tap at Franklin’s. Pours a moderately-dark brown with a good off-white head and some light lacing. The nose carries a bit of lightly-roasted malt and chocolate. Some very light hops. Not too complex, but that’s not something I’m looking for with this style. Some light malt and a faint nuttiness. Light body and good carbonation. Simple and easy-drinking.

On tap at the brewpub: pours a clear mahogany with a stringy-lacing off-white head. Has a lightly sweet caramel malty and nutty nose with a touch of grassy British hops. Starts with decent fullness and light malty sweetness with some toasty bready notes before a drier bittersweet finish with a touch of milk chocolate. Pretty true to style and drinkable.

Draft. Creamy beige head atop cola-red/brown body. Aroma is moderately sweet, nut, chocolate, some cherry, roast. Taste is fairly bold -- moderately sweet, chocolate, roast, some earthy, light cherry. Light-medium body, nicely drinkable.

Draft. Served up a clear mahogany brown with a skim of a tan head by the time it got to the table. A subtle aroma of caramel, toffee, a little nuttiness, and a hint of smoke. The palate is on the thin side and a little under-carbonated. The taste starts with some sweet caramel and toffee and doesn’t differentiate too much from there. Things get kinda dry and biscuity and touches of roasted coffee become apparent towards the end. Hints of smoke and a kiss of nuttiness throughout. True to style, but a boring style nonetheless.
