On tap at the Brewpub. This current incantation was called "Hubbert’s Peak Summer Wheat." Unfiltered cloudy gold with a white head. Good orange and coriander flavors. Very wheaty. Medium body and carbonation.

On tap at Franklins, Hyattsville on 14 July 2006. Hazy gold colour. Not much happening here. A little citrus in the flavour. Feather light mouthfeel. Nothing unpleasant but a bit anonymous.

Tap at Franklins. Pours a hazed light straw/wheat color with a pure white head. Aroma is doughy big wheaty maltiness, crackery bread, lemon zest, phenolic low ester profile- grassy. Flavor is phenolic spicy, lemonzest, earthy wheat toast, gummy doughy protiens, finishes mostly clean- nice.

Had this as their "Beat the Heat Wheat". Transparent gold with a frothy white head. Aroma of yeast, grass and maybe a touch of smoke. Flavor was alot of the same. Average at best, I suspect a similar unfiltered recipe would make a good Hefe, but as is, it’s drinkable but not loveable.

An unclear light yellow beer with a thin white head - served with a slice of lemon - get that out of my beer. The aroma is sweet lemony - reminds me a bit of a Belgian Wit. The flavor is and very wheaty, with OK notes of bananas, which leads to a wheaty dry finish with notes of lemon. I suspect that the lemon note in the end could be due to the lemon slice it was served with - even though I pulled the slice from the glass as soon as I got it.

Draught @ Brewpub Hazy yellow, white head, light lacing. Nose of musky wheat, light lemon and a bit of hop. The flavor is mild, light wheat, brief, thin, average. Eh!?

St. Armand’s Summer Wheat pours to a hazy deep golden color with a thick and rocky white head, and a good bit of carbonation. The nose on this beer is just packed with funky estery aromas of banana, clove, bubble gum, and a touch of vanilla. The body is firm, with some really great tart wheat malt character and estery notes of ripe pear. St. Armand’s finishes refreshing with more wheaty and estery fruit flavors. I really enjoyed this beer. This is a draught only product, but Franklin’s has growlers to go, so you can take some of this beer home with you when you visit. It makes for a perfect summer refresher, and would work well with a number of dishes.
