Bottle: Pours a transparent deep golden bronze with a spotty-lacing white head. Has a sweet biscuity pale malty nose with some clove spice, a touch of caramel and light fruity esters. Starts with good fullness and rich malty sweetness with a fine carbonation and good peppery clove spice before a slightly warming semi-sweet finish. Pretty true to style and enjoyable.

Bottled. Has that light banana smell but not too much hoppines. Appears more like an IPA and less of a dark brown cloudy. Bitterness is present, but not too hoppy; finishes nicely. Nice yeasty flavor, with good, more complex alcohol features.

Draft. Served in a tulip, golden orange color with a healthy white head. Soft aroma of hops, yeast and spice. Flavors included orange, citrus hops and honey - but was much milder than I expected for a Tripel. Hard to believe this is 9% ABV.

lamas (1071) - Washington DC, USA - APR 16, 2010
Draft. Served in a tulip glass. Arrived at the table a hazy orange color with a very thin off-white head. Mandarin oranges, a touch of caramel, honey, some vanilla, and a very light grapefruitiness in the aroma. Goes down medium to full-bodied and smooth. Light caramel and juicy oranges upfront taste-wise. Smooth vanilla in the middle. Finishes with a bit of lemon and pepper. Some warming alcohol present throughout. Pretty tasty.
