Not a bad Alkoholfrei Hefe-Weissbier, but it isn’t amazing like the Paulaner version.

Bottle, shared with Parket. Blonde, hazy beer, large white head. Aroma is grainy, malty and sweet. You can smell here already this is a non-alcoholic one. Taste is OK at first: nice grainy and malty, hoppy background, but with a bit of a weird aftertaste, which makes clear this is a non-alcoholic one. However the taste is similar - but definitely less good! - than the original one, the beer flattens after a while and gets boring. Nice one for a non-alcoholic, but certainly nothing special about it either.

Die Farbe steht dem alkoholfreien Weizen ganz gut, lediglich der Schaum gibt schnell klein bei. Geruch wenig fruchtig und wirkt etwas lasch. Geschmacklich bietet das Bier zu Anfang eine säuerliche Komponente, die sich im wässrigen Gesamtbild alsbald auflöst. Das alkoholfreie HW von Franziskaner ist ziemlich süffig, ansonsten jedoch wenig ersprießlich.Test vom 3.4.2007, Gebinde: Glasflasche

bottled, I didn’t want the ’alkoholfrei’ one, but had it in my cellar so I had to drink it. White unclear colour with nice foamy head. So far .. very sweet smell. Taste: some grainy sweet taste. Nothing special but ok for a low alcohol.

Bottle. Cloudy golden orange, with white head. Sweet, and the kind of strange wheat cracker taste, grain, and a bit of banana. I didn’t like it very much, but it is an alc free.

Typisch alkoholfreier, nicht gerade angenehmer Geruch. Süßlicher, etwas hopfiger Antrunk, die penetrante alkoholfreie Note kommt kurzzeitig leicht durch, ist aber glücklicherweise schnell wieder verschwunden.Im Mittelteil ist es aber dann auch wässrig, nur die minimal süße Note kommt durch. 23/01 0.5 l bottle somewhere from Graz. It poured hazy brownish body with medium sized head. Crappy cabbage and ugly cornflakes aroma. Metallic cornflakes flavor, really unpleasant, some chalk reveals wheat malt. As it wasn’t enough, it needed to be fuller in body because of all that wheat, resulting in long unpleasant metallic plus stinky socks finish. Maybe even I got the bad bottle but wouldn’t like to try again anyhow! Could be worse, I guess.

Bottled 500ml. -Hazy yellow/orange coloured, medium sized white head, sweet nose. The taste is very nice for n/a beer; light wheaty, caramel and rice crips. Even not so watery as I’ve expected. Pleasant n/a surprise.

Poured a nice warm full yellow murky body with a medium sized thick chalky white head that went away slowly. The nose is strange, a bit sweet, with notes of rice crackers and chalk. The taste ends up being better than expected and the mouthfeel remarkably pleasant. Caramel, chalky sweet rice crackers, maybe some cloves too. There is a light sour note to liven up everything. Actually quite drinkable and if forced to drink n/a beer (even if I can’t imagine such a situation), this would be one of my 2-3 top choices!
