Commercial Description:
Deep and dark colored, cloudy with yeast. Brewed with a darker roasted malt which adds some maltiness to the refreshing flavour of the Hefe-Weissbier.

A dark unclear apperance with a big head. Not to much aroma, but some yeast and a bit malt and the flavor is also yeast.

Smells like the browned crust of banana bread, tastes spicy, like clove and pepper, fruity, with a little citrus and subtle banana, caramel and vanilla, but it’s pretty dry, quite refreshing. Everything is well balanced, a little bitter in the finish. This is a nice beer, the flavors are interesting, they work well together, the whole is more than the sum of the parts. The murky brown color doesn’t do much for me, but looks aren’t everything.

nose of some yeast esthers that fade into almost metallic like bitterness. color is cloudy rust. flavor is of some fruits but not enough to satisfy me with the experience of better dunkelweizens. palate is just thick enough, very nice. overall this is less of a success then regular franzi is in its own category.

Muddy river-brown or dark unfiltered apple cider in color with nice head retention. Plenty of floaties. Nose is malty apples. Toasted bananas sit in a classic weizen ’spritzy’ mouthfeel. Spicy citrus alongside. Sorta light-medium boddied and despite the color would make an excellent summer brew. I’ll have to visit Ayinger’s version next. Very good!

(bottle) pours a murky reddish-brown colour with an off-white head. aroma predominantly of peanuts and toasted malt. flavour is the same, with a hint of coffee and a full roasted-bitter finish. medium body with fizzy carbonation.

Bottle. Pours a muddy brown with no head. Smells of fruits. Great smooth taste with a nice hue of bananas. Left my glass full of sediment.

Bottle. Nose is phenolic, slightly metallic with banana and clove undertones. Caramel as it warms. Thick-ish brown with a nice bubbly white head. Flavor is caramel and bananas, well-intertwined. A touch of roasty character shows up at the end as well. Full-bodied with a very smooth feel, like thick velvet. This makes it a very drinkable dessert beer.
