soulgrowl (52), Kitakyushu-shi, Japan May 7, 2008 Aroma: Fruity, like apples and pears, with a hint of tobacco. Malts are well-developed, chocolaty with a hint of coffee.
Appearance: Thick, murky brown, with a pea-soup greenish tint. Creamy, uniform head with good retention.
Flavor: Very much like apple cider, or applesauce. Yum! Toasted malts are the base flavor, with a bit of clove and alcohol. Reminds me of bread pudding. Finish is sweet and refreshing, not sugary in the least.
Palate: Glorious! Incredibly creamy, with little sharp bursts of carbonation.
Overall: This is quite yummy, but I can imagine it might get somewhat cloying after a while. Still, very drinkable. daknole (2802), Plantation, Florida, USA May 5, 2008 I like this beer for a macro. The Germans know their beer and even their macro brewed beers are very nice. This one is nice and malty and hints of a nice bread can be found also. TheCaptain (526), Lancaster, Pennsylvania, USA May 5, 2008 Bottle-chilled and ready to go after a long drive to NC, thanks Gabs. Nice orange brown hazy pour and foam head. Yeast up front, malt texture and what a great blend. Aroma of bread and grains mixes into the body and pallet. This was a refreshing quaffer, only thing missing was a large Stein. checkmatei1 (629), Willow Grove, Pennsylvania, USA May 5, 2008 Draft: Poured a amber color with a nice amount of head. The aroma was sweet banana and bread. The flavor was smooth with fruit, caramel and a hint of cloves present. Overall, an easy drinking beer, one I’d get again. esjaygee (1467), Oak Creek, Wisconsin, USA May 4, 2008 Cloudy amber/orange with light tan head. Aroma of banana, clove, bubblegum and spice. Flavor is spicy with wheat and banana too. Medium palate leads way to a metallic but spicy finish. CaptBier (301), Birmingham, Alabama, USA May 3, 2008 Tap. Big brown beer with big brown head. Wheat and malt aroma. Very easy to drink. Wheat, bready and clean taste. Bragesnak (2223), Aarhus, Denmark May 2, 2008 Fredagsbaren på Biologi, Aarhus, DK

Aroma and flavor of banana. With a hint of caramel/malt sweetness wich balances the high carbonation dpjuart (670), Indiana, Pennsylvania, USA May 1, 2008 50cL bottle courtesy of Naka. Pours a dark copper color with a thick, two-finger, foamy head that dissipates rather quickly. Moderate lacing. Nose is sweet, with banana and spicy clove, some bready notes with a slight roast hint. Taste is lots of malt, sweet with mild roast. Lots of banana notes with clove spice, just like a DW should be. This is really tasty. I’m a big fan of Dunkelweizens, and this one is spot on. All of the characters that I’d expect. Good stuff.
