pojo41 (315), Hattiesburg, Mississippi, USA May 2, 2007 Bottle. Beautiful, dark brown, caramel color. Aroma is much like their helles weiss but, maltier. Nice, fluffy, off-white head. Flavor is also much like the helles weiss but, with a maltier, darker taste. A very good dunkelweiss. holdenn (1431), Chicago, Illinois, USA Apr 26, 2007 500 ml bottle from Sam’s Wine and Spirits (i think). Pours a hazy amber color with a tall fluffy beige head. Yeasty esters raisins red fruits, brown sugar, pretty decent. Similar on the tongue raisins, red fruit, with chocolate, carmel, and bread. Lightly carbonated, decent beer. BREWMUSKCLES (1062), New Jersey, USA Apr 25, 2007 the banana and the gummy candy touch with the slight astringent seperator makes this a tasters brew. makes you easily want another. the cloudiness adds to a german mystery. good body and the slightly chalky mouthfeel works well in this beer. really, someone made a truly eloquent brew here. LyNoel (6), USA does not count Apr 18, 2007 Malty, with an aroma of toffee. Creamy and satisfying at the palate, with a peppery - cinnamon finish... One of my all-time favorite wheats. (And it is 100% fabulous on tap, too - way better than from the bottle!) GeoffT (12), Scotland Apr 17, 2007 500ml bottle from Munich. Excellent fruity/spicy hefe aroma. Chocolate malt notes in aroma and flavour. Similar to Weihenstephan. Great beer. truegen (164), Puyallup, Washington, USA Apr 11, 2007 500 ml bottle in weizen glass. Nicely dense off-white head. Strong banana-clove aroma atop a cloudy honey-gold color. Flavor is mostly a banana bread push with a strong citrus element. The only problem is that the body is really lacking for a dunkel. Were this a straight hef, I might rank it higher, because it’s quite a tasty brew, but I was hoping for more from this one. The price wasn’t bad at the local Tacoma Boys market, so I might try it again later in the summer. sheatripper (863), Brooklyn, New York, USA Apr 9, 2007 500ml bottle. Poured into a small weizen. Cloudy deep amber with a huge almond color meringue head. Cereal malt aroma with underlying banana yeast note. A trace of spice on the nose as well. Dark bread malt and banana flavor, with a bit of lemony tartness. While there is fair bit of fine carbonation, it tastes slightly watery in the palate. Underwhelming. garthicus (1215), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Apr 9, 2007 Nice big head with a wheaty aroma and a nice soft taste with a lingering aftertaste, a very surprising beer as I didnt think much of it when I bought it
