Aroma is similar but appearance is a lot darker brown than normal. Mouthfeel is smooth and consistant with the regular brew. Flavor is more sweet and a little more malty. A great brew but I would probably stick with the regular if I had my choice. EHSRanders (1120), Randers C, Denmark

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Feb 20, 2007 Sweet, ripe banana in the aroma perhaps even some nuts and... sweet pastries? Surprisingly transparent and much less cloudy than the blonde variety.
The taste reminds me a lot of ice cream I often had as a kid: banana, chocolate and almonds. Really! Might be a slight hint of citrus there too.
It feels a bit thin on the palate and the complexity isn’t off the scale, but still, it feels like they’ve hit a pretty good compromise between an easy drinking and refreshing brew and something you can delve into.
Solid and pleasant if not great or spectacular. Ridedom33 (37), Valdosta, Georgia, USA
