EHSRanders (1121), Randers C, Denmark Feb 21, 2007 Bottle. malty aroma and a large off-white head. Nice fresh wheet flavor.
Very good weissbier Kalli (474), Falun, Sweden Feb 20, 2007 Sweet, ripe banana in the aroma perhaps even some nuts and... sweet pastries? Surprisingly transparent and much less cloudy than the blonde variety.
The taste reminds me a lot of ice cream I often had as a kid: banana, chocolate and almonds. Really! Might be a slight hint of citrus there too.
It feels a bit thin on the palate and the complexity isn’t off the scale, but still, it feels like they’ve hit a pretty good compromise between an easy drinking and refreshing brew and something you can delve into.
Solid and pleasant if not great or spectacular. Ridedom33 (37), Valdosta, Georgia, USA Feb 19, 2007 Pours nicely. But i hated the smell. I hated the taste. I just couldnt bring myself to like it. Poperinge (359), Cowtown, Alberta, Canada Feb 19, 2007 Updated: Oct 8, 2007By far not the best Dunkel Hefe that I have had and for me this lacks the body of other examples.....but don’t get me wrong this is drinkable. Muddy brown appearance with small lasting head. Starts with foam on the palate finishes bitter. gak111 (3), Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, USA does not count Feb 18, 2007 Pours Dark Murky brown with biscuit large colored head. Very malty aroma, mainly a roasted nutty scent. Medium body and smooth going down. Strong flavor of malt - very complex, with banana and spices. Cajun (144), New Iberia, Louisiana, USA Feb 15, 2007 1 pint 9oz bottle - Pours murky brown with thick offwhite head. Aroma of roasted nutty malt and spice. Sweet wheat flavor with citrus overtones. It’s decent enough to drink again, but I haven’t yet developed a taste for wheat beers yet. This may go well with seasame chicken or glazed ham. faroeviking (6024), Republica Vikingo de las, Faroe Islands Feb 12, 2007 Bottle. Cloudy dark brown with a beautiful big creamy fully lasting off-white head leaving a very nice good lasting lacing. Aroma of wheat and some roasty maltiness, spices, some caramel. Flavour is fresh, good wheat, dark malts, some banana, good spices. GREAT brew!
