Jul 9, 2009 I am not sure how this rating got deleted, but I originally rated this about three years ago after a trip to germany. Bought this in a store. From the 500 mil bottle it poured a hazy amber to brown color with a light tan head and big lacing. Nose of oranges and cloves. Medium mouthfeel. Flavor is malts and some banana. Good beer and easy drinking.

Jul 8, 2009 Sampled on draft at Johnny’s Wife’s Place in Jeannette PA this beer poured murky dark orange-brown color with a small beige head. The aroma was moderately strong banana and clove. The flavor was bitter, tangy, bready and malty with notes of orange, pepper, cardboard and nutmeg underneath. The finish was long, dryish, spicy, bready and had a touch of clove. Nice.

Jul 6, 2009 Dark Amber with thick creamy foam.. a very light and refreshing dunkel... I typically prefer higher alcohol content with a bit more flavor, but this goes well with the Hef on a hot summer day

Jun 28, 2009 pours very cloudy red with a heavy citrusy yeast aroma. flavor is sweeter than i expected, almost bubblegum with some spice notes. finish is tangy as expected. pretty good, but a tad too sugary for me.

Jun 28, 2009 TAP: brown/grape pour, nice white head. Sweet malt and dark fruit nose, but mild. Taste is wheat, sugar, caramel, maybe a little nut. Somewhat dry.

Pours huge fluffy off white head of poor duration,over a slightly cloudy brownish (SRM 15-20) body.....nose of slight banana/bubblegum, clove.........tastes initially of sweetish roasted malts (toffee, slight brown sugar), then light lemon and finishing clove.....mouth feel is light, carbonation high, finish is dry. I was disappointed. This is not particularly spicy, nor as rich as I had anticipated. There are many better hefes out there.

Jun 22, 2009 Dark amber color with a white head. No lacing. Smells of sweet malt and yeast. Taste of very light banana. Mostly caramel, nutty, and bread. Good beer for any day or event.
