Commercial Description:
Deep and dark colored, cloudy with yeast. Brewed with a darker roasted malt which adds some maltiness to the refreshing flavour of the Hefe-Weissbier.

Sampled last weekend. Compared to the regular Franziskaner, taste is a lot more sweet. Aroma is similar but appearance is a lot darker brown than normal. Mouthfeel is smooth and consistant with the regular brew. Flavor is more sweet and a little more malty. A great brew but I would probably stick with the regular if I had my choice.

Heavy malty aroma. Huge creamy, off-white head. Excellent lacing. Fully lasting longevity. Cloudy yellow body. Light bitter initial flavor. Light to medium palate and a watery texture.

Pours hazy dark into the glass with a decent head and spiderlacing. Aromas of banana and clove. Banana from the beginning of the pull through the finish.... also some hints of clove are nice. The smooth yeasty finish compliments the overall pour. Not bad.

Cloudy brown with a huge foamy white head. Aroma of cloves cinamon and spice. A sweeter beer with cloves and slight banana taste. Smooth with the bite you find at the end of a hefe.

Amber brown and cloudy with nice looking thick head. Spicy and fruity aroma with hints of dark candi sugar. Interesting malty/caramelly/banana flavor. A bit strange rendition of the style.

Heavy wheat and malt aroma. Massive head that’s lighet than expected. Very sweet, with a medium body. Finishes a bit long and sweet.

Not great - not horrible. It’s good to see what a Dunkelweizen ’should’ taste like, not what our opinion of them is. Pours a dark brown with white head. Aroma is bananas, with a touch of must. Not overly sweet, but with a clove note in there. Finishes on a clean note.

Cooked! Not much flavor. Very restrained. Lacking classic Bavarian wheat beer flavors.
