Deep and dark colored, cloudy with yeast. Brewed with a darker roasted malt which adds some maltiness to the refreshing flavour of the Hefe-Weissbier.

It’s aroma is earthly with a mixture of caramel and dough. The head is light brown and is full bodied. The color is a light brown with some clouding. It has a pleasant taste reminiscent of cheese, caramel, and a sweet flavor. It is decent on the way down that is appealing to the palate.

Bottle from Eroski, Pollenca; I was on holiday so I’m buggered if I can remember the detail, however I do recall that it was as tight and well defined as the standard Franziskaner hefe, but with a sort of dark fruit (cherry / strawberry) twist; needless to say it totally hit the spot.

Bottle. Pours mostly clear mahogany brown with creamy beige head. Aroma is bready and cookie malts, light toast, light fig, woody notes, and light nuts. Flavor is chewy malt base with some nuttiness, some dark fruit notes, light woodiness, and some sweetness; dry finish. Medium body and carbonation.

From a bottle. Pours a tawny medium.brown with a fizzy beige head. Tastes like dried fruits, sweet malt, corn, dough, and dry soda. Light body and low carbonation. Smells like sweet malt, yeast, caramel, and raisins.

50cl bottle. Bottled 23.06.14. Pours light brown, almost like pale cloudy cola. Aroma is classic weiss with grain, banana, yeast and maybe some light dough acidity. Some roasted note emerges in the mouth but not very strong.

It has a broad range of aromas and sweet flavors with just a hint of sour finish. Great to look at and a surprisingly light body. Very enjoyable.
