Deep and dark colored, cloudy with yeast. Brewed with a darker roasted malt which adds some maltiness to the refreshing flavour of the Hefe-Weissbier.

Cloudy dark ruby red. Aroma of dark fruit (cherries mostly) & bananas. Sips light and frothy with sweet. Light and Spritzy like palate with sour raspberries like middle and very dry finish. Very fruity for a dark weizen. I would prob guess this is sour, it has that much red fruit.

Dark brown, strong white head. Yeastiness with roasted malt and wheat on the nose. Sour-sweet wheat notes with a nice roasted sour-ish finish. Some banana notes - if my mind is not playing tricks on me. Okay.

Popular Dunkelweizen in the Franziskaner series, which was taken over from the abbey by Spaten already in 1860. Thick, firm, rocky, yellow beige head, deep caramel brown colour with rusty hue, hazy. Soft malty aroma of caramel candy, sourish wheat, flowery hops, orange peel, banana, cinnamon and cloves. Lightly sweet taste, very caramel-like, quickly becoming more sourish, citrus touch, smooth graininess in the finish, chocolatey maltiness, sourishness keeps accompanying the palate and makes for a refreshing ending.

Pours dark and hazy with tan head. Cleaner nose than the light version. Less complex nose than the light version. Lighter mouthfeel and cleaner taste, lighter banana flavours than other version.

Bottle. Hazy brown body. Frothy, off-white head, lasting. Aroma of toasted bread, caramel with notes of banana and clove. The flavor is moderately sweet and lightly bitter. It finishes lightly to moderately sweet and lightly bitter. Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation. Overly sweet, but the sweetness is tempered by acidic tartness in the finish. Taste of caramel and bread with some hints of English ESB characteristics. Or maybe that was my imagination. Sweet and not overly refined, and I should not have enjoyed it as much as I did. But I did.

de color ámbar oscuro, tiene cierta turbidez. Media intensidad aromática, con recuerdos a caramelo, cereales solubles y plátano algo sobre madurado. En boca bastante fresca, algo picante, amargo comedido que recuerda al cereal tostado.
