dkachur (641), Charlottesville, Virginia, USA Jul 22, 2008 500 mL bottle from Beer Run in Charlottesville. Hazy bronze pour with a very large head. Medium retention and good lacing. It takes a while to pour this thing. Rich and nutty yeast aroma with some fruity notes. Very light taste, with notes of yeast, wheat, nuts, caramel. Light to medium bodied. guzzler67 (1125), Hanover, Maryland, USA Jul 21, 2008 Hazy, reddish brown appearance with a large, off white head and modest lacing. Subdued, wheaty aroma, moderately spiced, with a hint of caramel. Earthy, malty taste; some yeastiness, some fruitiness. Well carbonated, medium bodied mouithfeel with the characteristic smoothness. Slightly sweet, medium length finish. Guinnessman (60), VACAVILLE, California, USA Jul 14, 2008 One of the better dunkels I’ve had over the last 10 years. Nice aroma, good Franziskaner flavor with a hint of banana. Goes great with a garlic sausage. gueuze_is_god (92), Graham, North Carolina, USA Jul 13, 2008 .5l bottle, vigorous head quickly subsides to a thin film. Moderately clovey, no real hop aroma. The slightly dark color doesn’t translate to any caramel or roasty flavor, middle of the road flavor, good but not outstanding in it’s field. Guinness4Duff (429), Tallahassee (and Poconos, PA), Florida, USA Jul 13, 2008 On tap. Brown pour, has a typical hefe smell of banans and cloves with a taste to match. Not really different in taste to a god hefe, just darker. Pretty good.
