Franziskaner Weissbier Naturtrub Premium Hefe-Weissbier
From Munich Since 1363
Ingredients: Water, Wheat Malt, Barley Malt, Yeast, Hop Extract
The original fresh wheat beer taste. Franziskaner Hefe-Weißbier Naturtrüb is a natural and elegant Weissbier from Bavaria with a lush white foam. The copper golden wheat beer unfolds with an aromatic fragrance and harmonious banana and citrus fruits.

On tap at Pickle’s in State College, Pennsylvania, the new place, apparently to hang out. One of the better draughts they had available, and it being summer, I decided to give it a whirl. Not as flavorsome as their dunkel variety but still banana-nutty with notes of orange and citroen. At a trendy new place like this, I wonder how many other college kids actually drink this stuff. But kudos to the operators who decided to make it available.

Had this on tap in France. Very smooth and refreshing. Mild taste and mild hop bitterness. Great on a warm summer day.

Fair sized white head lasts and laces on top of the totally cloudy, homogeneous pale gold body. Propagating phenols fill the glass surroundings, very medicinal in nature, clovey. Doughy yeast, unbaked cookies, christmas spice and a large banana-ish ester base. The wheat comes out a bit more in mouth, but I don’t find that the yeast richness follows. Feels a bit sweet for the style, rather lemon pie like, meringue included. Rather well balanced, straightforward example that does the job with no shortcuts nor star moments. Light-medium body, moderately high carbonation, airy texture.

A hazy golden color full of sediment with a fair white head. Aroma of malt and fruit. A citrus flavor is present with some banana and clove. Nice and crisp. Fairly refreshing.

Nice hefe. Pours the typical Hefe-weizen color. Taste is grassy and organic with some bannana-clove. Follows with a spicey, citrus-hop bite that washes the grassiness down. Good Munich weizen.

UPDATED: FEB 7, 2006 1st beer I had at the Flour City Brew Fest. A refreshing brew with a hazy orange color and a slightly fruity taste. I enjoyed it. Had again during super bowl XL. Still good.

How have I not rayed this one? Pours cloudy gold with a large white head. Aroma of wheat (banana) and yeast (bread). Flavor is heavy wheat with a little spice and a touch of bitterness in the finish. Good carbonation and mouthfeel. Lots of flavor without getting heavy. One of my every day beers.
