3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pint bottle. Appearance of a typical hefe: cloudy yellow-orange with a thick head. Very wheaty, banana-y dryness. Nice and refreshing for the summer.

(Bottle 50 cl) Hazy amber with the kind of head that simply refuses to die. Soft, malty character and a yeasty fruitiness. Classical Bavarian Hefe-weizen and a fine example of the style. 141099

While I prefer the Dnkel, this beer is a must have for summertime. Cool and refreshing, it’s banana peel flavor is well balanced with hops. Goes down well on draught or in a bottle. Use a tall weiss beer glass when pouring, as the rich head is worthy to see at it’s ultimate. I’ve never seen a head on a beer that frothy or one that would stand up that high. It’s like a fine Cuban cigar that you let burn without flicking the ash off, it’s will go almost forever.

Poured a medium amber color with a larger (4-finger) sized head. Fruity aromas and tastes. Bananas, wheat and light yeast. It was OK but maybe a little on the thin side.

On tap at the Senator lounge at Munich Airport. Classic german hefe. Unfortunately I was in a hurry as I was only in transit. Cloudy straw gold with big fluffy white head. The usual banana and clove aromas and flavours with a litte dough as well. Unlike many who have reviewed this beer I thought he palate was a little watery. Still, a very refreshing beer.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
On tap at the Lowenbrau Keller in the Rocks, Sydney. Like the beer my review is going to be a bit clouded. Simply because this was free, one fifth ofa very nice and gratis tasting tray. I don’t really have to be too worried about giving this a fairly positive review because any beer that is sitting on an 88 percentile after nearly 600 reviews must be pretty good. Great presentation in the glass with a good cloudy body and bleach blonde head. Ample cloves, banana and other wheaty esters are present. the flavour is crisp and dry with a very pleasant palate. A shame the weather is turning colder as this would be an ideal summer sipper.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
UPDATED: JUN 6, 2005 Typical cloudy amber (apple cidery) color. Decent white fluffy head with decent lacing. Fruity esters, with a medium bodied mouthfeel. Slightly sweet and slightly bitter. I will imbibe this one again because it is one of three decent beers that I can get here in Mississippi!
Also had this on tap, and I remember the bottled tasting much better than the tap.

On Tap. Thin whiteish head. Aroma-not much from what I would have expected. Color-cloudy straw/gold. Nice palate, interesting taste, bananaish. Better than average Hefe-weissbier.

Fine meringue-like head smells mainly of esters. Light amber color with slight cloudiness. Overripe banana notes behind fresh wheat malt, like a liquid banana bread loaf. Plenteous fine carbonation gives this a light finish, along with some yeast-induced sourness.
