3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Mildly sweet aroma with a thick white head. The color is a cloudy yellow-orange that is normally associated with hefe-beers. The sweet aroma continues to the taste which adds a bit of fruit. not bad at all.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Cloudy butterscotch yellow with a giant pillowy head. A powerful aroma of wheat and fruits. A real rich and full flavor of spices, clove, fruits, and grainy wheat. The spice lingers. A high quality weizen and i drink this style often.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle. Pours a cloudy light gold. Head is white and creamy with very fine bubbles...lasting. Aroma has a very good balance between banana and clove, with some wheat sweetness in the background. Body is medium light, with some residual sweetness in the finish. Flavor has a lot of banana, as expected, but it’s not overpowering. Clove is there, but not the main flavor. There’s a nice tartness in the finish from the wheat. Overall, a very nice beer....certainly pegs the style.

UPDATED: JUN 24, 2006 Hazy apricot-orange with a billowy, ice cream cone head. Juicy banana sweetness with a cleansing wheaty sourness. Great clumps of yeasty sediment like dissolving aspirin. Seductive clove-banana aroma. Quenching balance of wheat and fruit. The Bavarians have done it again. God bless ’em.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
On tap at The Nomad. Poured a hazy medium golden with a thick cap of whitish head.. looked very nice. Nose found the usual suspects... clovey/banana-ey wheat, cereal malts, and hints of lemon. Smooth caramel and cereal malty middle surrounded by banana and cloves with lemon highlights. Just shy of medium-bodied and somewhat grainy. Quite refreshing.

Bottle: Aroma had clove, spice and banana along with some grain. Dark cloudy gold body with big white head that disipated quickly. Flavor was a good mix of banana and spices. Good medium body brew that was refreshing on a hot summer day. Some spice left on palate but not much.

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Smokey and clove spice aromas come through with banana mixed in. Beer poured with a huge tall white head that lasts for some time, as it should. Yellow color and cloudy from the yeast that was swirled before pouring in the glass. Good clove spiceyness with with yeast flavor and a nice medium banana sweetness mixed in. Beer has a good finish that leaves me wanting more. A good classic german style wheat as I expect from a franziskaner.
