From Munich Since 1363
Ingredients: Water, Wheat Malt, Barley Malt, Yeast, Hop Extract
The original fresh wheat beer taste. Franziskaner Hefe-Weißbier Naturtrüb is a natural and elegant Weissbier from Bavaria with a lush white foam. The copper golden wheat beer unfolds with an aromatic fragrance and harmonious banana and citrus fruits.

I’m a hefeweizen addict, and Franziskaner is up at the top for me. Good pale yellow appearance. A decent amount of head. I could taste a nice flavor of bubble gum, banana, and a little spice. Very nice on the palate. Great on a summer day.

Yellow-golden, cloudy body; small bubbles with average density; large and lasting white head with average lacing. Aroma is moderately malty with a citric background due to hops; fruity notes (banana and apple) together with some spicy notes (cloves, I’d say). Sweet malty flavour at the beginning, then leaves space to a moderate bitterness in the finish; light acidic feeling n the background. Body is light to medium with a lively carbonation; lightly astringent in the finish. This beer is very satisfactory and refreshing; the balance between fruity notes and bitterness in the finsh is very pleasant.

Draft at Prost. Big white head, gorgeous golden body. Amazingly complex nose--loads of lemon, melon, and other citrusy goodness. Flavor opens up fast on the attack with citrus and some spice, broadening to a pale malt base with a bit of herbs on the top. Very little bitterness. Totally refreshing and satisfying.

500 ml bottle. Hazy yellow pour with a big, white, foamy head. Nose is big wheaty, spicy - coriander, light clove. Some bananna aromas. Dense white veil of lace. Fairly light flavor, more malt than anticipated. Naturally, is is wheaty, and the spices really shine as is warms a bit. Excellent example of the style.

(500 ml bottle from <A HREF=http://www.ratebeer.com/Place/maine/augusta/l target=blank>Lou’s Beverage Barn) Pours a fairly cloudy light yellow-orange with a big foamy white head. Aroma is wheat, citrus and glue. Spotty lacing. Mouthfeel is soft and tingly. Refreshing wheaty and citrusy flavor. Seems like it’s lacking a little freshness, no telling how old the bottle may be. A nice wheat nonetheless.

Pours a slightly hazy golden/orange color. Decent frothy head. Aroma is combination of yeast, trace citrus and maybe a little spice. Taste is very yeasty and wheaty. Good representation of style. Not the best, but pretty darn good.

UPDATED: JUN 16, 2007 Great yellow apricot color with must a little head. Nose is banana and cloves. Meadium body, with a light finish...sweetness and banana...but not too much so. Very nice Weiss.

Bottle from Taco Mac in Tucker, GA. It was a clear straw yellow and it did not have much of a head. There was not an aroma coming from the glass, but the taste was hoppy and spicy. Not really something I’d buy again.

This is probably my favorite beer in the world. The only downside is that it lacks "all day drinkability". Unlike some lighter styled beers, I cannot have more than three at a time on a warm summer’s day. Had some on tap at Epcot, and they were very good, though a little heavy to be refreshing in the late summer Florida heat and humidity.
