Granted, I haven’t tried many hefeweizens, but this tasted quite lovely. Bananas, a little bit of citrus, and a nice clean finish. Since I’m a student, at $7.50 for 6 12 ounce bottles, I’d say that this is a damn good deal.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours cloudy yellow with nice lasting white head. Banana spice to nose and an underlying new hay smell. Flavor is more banana, some citrus, cloves, not allspice like the Paulaner. Finishes with lingering slightly overripe banana flavor. Aftertaste is refreshing and a little malty. Overall very good.

3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
A cloudy yellow body with a frothy white head, this looked good enough to drink. The mild grassy aroma with a hint of fruitiness was an enticement as well. Nice tart lemony taste with solid spicing as well. Clean tart finish. Great warm weather drink. Great in all seasons.

Hazy, straw-yellow color,
enormous, pillowy white head: so far, the perfect look for a hefe weizen.
Aroma: fresh, flowery, dry, loaded with lemon.
Light and smooth, with a good, grainy texture.
Marvelous fruity flavor, with the requisite Bavarian banana/clove character really showing itself more in the middle, and rides on out through the end.
Wonderfully refreshing, thirst-quenching, damned-easy quaffability.
Belongs among the top tier of weizens: ah, delicious!

That was the first nonlager beer that I ever tasted. It remains a sentimental favorite. The first time I tried it, I drank it fast, and from a bottle. I hated it then, thought it was too lemony, spicey and generally undrinkable, I expected to see it bashed on sites like this, but I’ve seen only really positive reviews of it. That got me thinking, and I realized that the problem wasn’t in the beer, but in the way I was drinking it, tried it again, this time sipping it slowly from a glass, and the taste opened up to me. And I loved it. It’s smooth,a bit yeasty, and looks a bit murky, amd the banana taste lingers a bit in the background.

12oz Bottle: Pours a cloudy pale yellow with a head that dissapears rather quickly. Fruity smell, somewhat like bananas. Fairly smooth taste, with a surprising bite far an aftertaste. Overall a very good Weissbier.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Classic hefeweizen. Very smooth and fruity (banana ). With Paulaner the best hefeweizen, I think.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Second best in a flight of wheats at the Flying Saucer in Memhis: really malty and on the sweet side for a wheat beer, otherwise, classic for the style.

4.1 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
This hefe weizen poured a hazy amber color with a full head and nice lace. The head diminished quickly, but the carbonation kept coming to give it a fresh bite throughout. It has a fruity smell (bananas), yet tastes more citrus. The taste was smooth with a biting finish. This hefe weizen is refreshing and lively.
