Pours a beautiful hazy but not cloudy orange color with a fluffy white head. Aroma is mild and yeasty with mild orange presence. Flavor is of course yeasty, but very subtle in the fruit and spice department. Very clean tasting with lively little bubbles and a lemony aftertaste. This is a good hefe for sure.

A truly good weizen. Not very heavy but the body is full flavored with tones of spices and fruit. Drank it in the summer time and it went very well with food. The best weizen ive had to date.

A great tasting beer. A bit sweet, yet still has a dark taste. Very good tasting beer and satisfying

A yellow-golden, slightly cloudy body with a big white head. Nose of spices, bananas, and yeast, typical of hefes. Very refreshing and spicy taste. One of the best hefes I’ve had.

On tap in Moscow. This beers pours into a beautiful cloudy golden color with a large wheat beer head. It smells of bananas and other yeastyness. Drinks smooth and very nice. I usually don’t like wheat beers, but the offerings from Franziskaner have made me re-evaluate my opinions.

Cloudy gold in appearance. Aroma bursted with banana but I didn’t pick up much clove. The flavor agreed with huge banana up front followed by a slightly sweet after taste. Was a touch watery on the palate. Overall an excellent effort true to style.

UPDATED: DEC 10, 2008 [bottle - Great European Beerfest 8, Sharp Edge Tavern - East Liberty, PA] Pours a very rich gold color with a decent white head that left nice lacing. Very faint citrus aroma, mostly lemon and orange with a hint of yeast. Initial taste is a citrus zest with a yeast and wheat mixture making up the body and a sweet aftertaste.

UPDATED: AUG 25, 2011 Overall a good hefeweizen - though a few still outshine it, you really can not go wrong with a Franzy. +++This time I sampled it from a 16.9 oz brown bottle. This beer poured a beautiful cloudy orange-golden color that whets the appetite with anticipation. The large white head has a slight orange tinge to it as well. There is a faint scent of orange peel. The scent is very pleasant but extremely faint. The flavor was very bready and yeasty. An orange peel flavor definitely shone through. A sweet yeasty aftertaste lingered.

unfortunately, green bottle. heavy aroma of yeast, banana, citrus, spice, wheat. frothy white head on a couldy color somewhere between orange and tan. very tangy and sweet flavors, bready yeast still present. very clean finish, with a pleasant finish.
