Mmm, mmm, good. That’s what the happy little monk says on the front of this bottle. It’s a full, complex brew, wheaty and malty. However, it has a soapy twinge, but not in a bad way. A good brew.

UPDATED: APR 26, 2006 Update, and a long time coming. Used to be one of my classic default beers, and I still enjoy it, only it’s not as good as I once thought it’s was in my younger years. The need to finally update this rating comes from having it on tap at Lowenbrau in Munich. Pours as a hazy gold in color with a nice creamy head. Taste is light, sweet and fulfilling. Easy to pick up traces of bananas and cloves, with subtle accents of oranges and a little bit of vanilla in the background. Refreshingly effervescent. Great, sweet and clean finish. A solid rendation.

12 ounce green bottle, as in the posted picture, purchased from Wilbur’s Wine & Spirits in Fort Collins, CO Lovely cloudy-orange beer with a huge head that lasted the whole glass, with lots of sticky lacing. Pronounced lemon-yeast aroma, with a hint of something warm -- maybe clove? Taste was really delightful -- mild, citrus with a touch of yeasty banana, and a lingering spicey, almost peppery clove-like aftertaste. Not as heavy as Paulaner or Weihenstephaner -- milder, less forward, and a bit less hops bitterness. Amazing mouthfeel for this style of beer: quite smooth and rounded. At 5.0%, and such a pleasant taste, you could drink these comfortably for a long session.

A really nice beer. Not quite as thick as some weissbiers. Still, though, a nice, swet and fruity taste. I agree with other comments that notice a hint of banana.

Bottle. Cloudy yellow colour with a large, white foamy head. Aroma is banana and cloves. Some banana in the taste but mostly citrus, with a slight sour edge. Medium mouthfeel, quite highly carbonated. Smooth, clean and very drinkable. Very good weissbier.

Full-bodied; the flavor lingers and is shooth but sparkling. Thick yeast-y carbonation as is the style. Bananas and cloves sums it up very nicely. Mildly citrus flavored but not bitter or acidic. A very nice Hefeweizen. Smell doen’t match the flavor but this is the olny bad mark I could find to give it.

Pours a cloudy yellow body with a frothy white head the taste has hints of bananas, a little bit of citrus, and a very clean finish. I’m growing to love wheat beer more and more and this is one of the best I’ve had in a while. When you can get the chance to buy this stuff at $1.99 a pint go for it!

Poured a cloudy yellow with a big off-white head. Citrusy and fruity nose. Clove, cinnamon, banana, grain, and lemon the tongue. Nice lingering aftertaste. My favorite beer in its style.

Granted, I haven’t tried many hefeweizens, but this tasted quite lovely. Bananas, a little bit of citrus, and a nice clean finish. Since I’m a student, at $7.50 for 6 12 ounce bottles, I’d say that this is a damn good deal.
