2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
500 ml bottle Light hazy brown. Banana and yeasty aromas. Soft and thick mouthfeel. High prickling feel from the carbonation. Little flavour. Dry watery aftertaste. Only a little bitterness. There are better hefe-weizens out there.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
50 cl bottle. Yeast tha bottom. Cloudy yellow colour with a great white head. Nice aroma of banana, yeast and a lot of bread. Also nice flavour of wheat with some sourness. Very drinkable, one of the best hefe-weissen I had, so far.

4.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20
Bananas and citrus. Smells fantastic! What a great smelling weissbier! Pale in color with slight clouds... an almost white head that diminishes quickly. Tastes just like a German wheat should, with a slight, yeasty finish.

3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20
Øl (50 cl.) købt i Tyskland.

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
50cl bottle. Poured murky gold into a footed pilsner glass with a huge, lasting white head. Nose is DMS and fruits with some banana at the edges. Strong banana at first taste then mostly DMS-y pale lager flavor with a metallic undertone. I’m nonplussed. Pretty good mouthfeel, crisp, well carbonated and refreshing if watery. Highly drinkable. I’ve now tasted 2 of the current top 10 hefeweizens and I must say I’m disappointed with the flavor in both cases: basically cheap lager with a shot of banana. I’ve heard (and I hope it’s true) that hefeweizens tend to be much better on tap.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
UPDATED: JUN 2, 2007 Cloudy gold with a pillowy white head. I thought I hit a fluke with the weihenstephaner hefe as a great german hefe, but this one is just as good. Really silky in texture. Flavor is deliciously refreshing. Good citrus and bubblegum. Extremely well balanced. RERATE, i think this is second to weihenstephaner for hefes out of the bottle. tons of delightlful esters.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
UPDATED: FEB 24, 2006 Bottle. I must say I was inspired by the happy monk on the bottle. Hazy bronze with fine floaties and a small creamy yellow head. Very light and fine carbonation streams up the body. Aroma is sweet like grilled bananas, cloves, and straw. Some light malt is present. Banana taste coupled again with clove. Spicy goodness reminds of starfruit with a slightly acidic finish. Very light hop presence. A bit dry, a bit carbonated, and a bit watery in the finish. Pretty good.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours a very cloudy, pale golden color with a frothy one inch white head, slowly settling to a thick cap that leaves behind a thick sheeting of lace.
Smell; slightly bubblegum like aroma, very ripe bananas, wheat and pale malts. This also has a nice mildly spicy herbal smell.
Taste; wheaty bread dough, with touches of citrus and clove. There’s some banana, and a bit of a hop presence. The finish was a bit weaker than expected, lacking in the spiciness in the few other Hefe-Weisse beers I’ve had. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with nice lively carbonation.
