Pours yellow and hazy with a huge white head. Spicy and yeasty in aroma with a little citrus. Thin in body and moderately dry. Decent hefe flavor with no one distinctive feature but on the watery side. Bit of a metallic finish also.

UPDATED: JUN 25, 2005 The commercial description is actually pretty accurate here. But more pecifically, it also has understatements of apple schnapps, which could annoy you if you have misgivings about said beverage like so many folks. Goes well with cheeses and soft pretzels w/ mustard. Attractive labeling as well. Put a black monk on a malt liquor bottle and I guarantee sales for it will burst out the wazzoo!

Tastes like a good heffe should but could use more flavor. It’s a bit bland. I’ve definitely had better. This one tastes a bit macroish to me.

Great flavor, just like a weissbier should taste. Nothing fancy - a safe bet any day

Bottle. Hazy light amber with a huge rocky white head that diminished slowy. Aroma was full with wheat and banana. Flavor was moderate sweet with a moderate sweet banana finish. Medium body with creamy texture. good brew.

Had this on tap at Gustav’s Pub in Portland, Or. and it is an EXCELLENT Hefe, but what else do you expect from Germany. Great appearance, with a beautiful head and a very citrusy flavor. If anyone puts a lemon in this, they should be shot.

Solid German hefeweizen but not a patch on the Paulaner I had yesterday. Poured a cloudy peach-tangerine colour with a 4cm head that burped and farted for several minutes before settling down. Laced a little. Slightly sour aroma. Some characteristic weizen banana, plus vanilla. Not the most inviting hefeweizen aroma. Light-bodied and quenching, with a fizzy mouthfeel. Perhaps a fraction over-carbonated. Distinct banana notes and a mild bitter-sour finish. It’s decent enough but I wouldn’t rate it among the best of the hefes. (Bottle, best before Aug 05)

Overall, one of the finest hefe-weizens available on a consistant basis. Starts sweet, with clove and dry grass aroma. It follows through a bit on the dry side, and maintains a smooth and fruity tone on the palate. You don’t want to pollute this one with an orange or lemon slice.

Pours amber/gold with a generous head. Smell is on the vanilla end of the spectrum. Taste is fruity and sweet with a nice lingering aftertaste.
