Franziskaner Weissbier Naturtrub Premium Hefe-Weissbier
From Munich Since 1363
Ingredients: Water, Wheat Malt, Barley Malt, Yeast, Hop Extract
The original fresh wheat beer taste. Franziskaner Hefe-Weißbier Naturtrüb is a natural and elegant Weissbier from Bavaria with a lush white foam. The copper golden wheat beer unfolds with an aromatic fragrance and harmonious banana and citrus fruits.

pours a cloudy off brown copper w/ a small white head decent lacing. An odd sour light fruit aroma hints of wheat and lemon maybe cuz some idiot threw a lemon in my beer. Palate is mildly carbonated ok coating. Fairly light. Tastes of bannana nut bread light yeast and nutmeg. A pretty decent beer.

Bottle. Hazy, yellow/orange colour with a white head. Sharp, yeasty aroma with citrus. Flavour is acidic with yeast. Dry. Nice finish. Too much carbondioxide, though.

UPDATED: AUG 14, 2010 Rated 2005.06.28 - Golden and cloudy with a large rocky white head. Clove and some banana aroma, smells delightful. The taste is a bit disappointing. An initial malty taste fades into a refreshing wheat finish. A good representative of how a hefe should look and smell, but uninspired taste.

Rated 2010.07.26 - Pours hazy light golden with a thin mostly receding white head. Notes of light banana, clove, sweet wheat and yeast. Medium bodied with lively carbonation.

UPDATED: JUL 5, 2005 Hazy orange color with a large longlasting white head. Both aroma and flavor were a little off for me. Not a bad hefe, but was a little disappointed overall.

UPDATED: JAN 13, 2006 Bottle - June 2005 Average lasting, big and white head ( on the weak side considering it´s a Hefe). Yeasty appareance ( though not so cloudy) maybe a little too "white", even for a wheat beer. Somewhat citrusy aroma. Flavor is slightly acidic, tart and citric. Flavor may have affected because of the green bottle and the beer being not so fresh ( Germany is really far from here and i think it was imported pretty long ago, maybe for an Octoberfest promotion or something like that). Quickly disappearing aftertaste. Not bad, but i prefere more "accentuated" Hefes or Wits.

Not a hefe fan, but this one is nearly as good as paulaner in my book. Great head, nice flavor, not as sweet as others, which is good.

Huge head. Light citrus and wheat in aroma. Thin body, as expected, and decent on the palate. A little citrus and some wheat in the flavor. Not quite as good as Weihenstephaner, but still a refreshing beer.

Bottle. Poured hazy yellow with a HUGE head, and it left a great lace to boot. A beautiful hefe. Aroma mainly of citrus, yeast and wheat. Not too big, but not too weak. Flavor is front loaded with lemon zest with some hop bitterness following to the finish. Speaking of the finish, it’s dry from the citrus (and bitter from the hops). A nice light beer for the summer.

Not quite as good as Weihenstephaner, but close to the best you can get for this style. Great looking beer in a weizen glass. Cloudy, blond, yellow, light orange with a large fluffy white head. Good banana, yeasty aroma. Maybe a little too thin, but a thin body is good for this style. Tasty wheaty flavor with some fruity hints. A weaker finish. I could drink this all day.
