3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Reviewed 3/6/13. This was probably the first beer I bought that I truly loved, so I’ve been meaning to revisit this one for a long time. 12 oz bottle into a weizen glass.
A: Pours a darker amber color that seems both less hazy and fizzier-looking than others in the style. The head is a beautiful five-finger pale cream color. It has one of the softest-looking textures I’ve ever witnessed in ANY beer head, and retains itself reasonably.
S: This one is relatively clove-forward, with the general malts being the secondary aromatic feature. It seems like this one comes off ’drier’ than most.
T: Differing from the nose, the flavor itself is quite banana-forward to start. The banana esters will fade to a midtaste/finish of lactic cream, wheat, and cloves. No real depth here, just a solid no-frills hefeweizen.
M: I wondered if the feel would be dry due to the lack of a sweet nose - and I was wrong. This is a creamy, semi-sweet weizen, and pulls it off well. The thickness of the texture conceals the high carbonation somewhat, but as the carbonation fades, it seemingly becomes dry - very nearly to the point of being watery. On the plus side, it becomes more drinkable this way.
O: I don’t know if this is quite the beer I fell in love with...ah well, it’s still good stuff. And it’s available practically everywhere to boot.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
12 oz. bottle. Appearance: great white and foamy head, great lacing, golden-orange color, mildly cloudy. Aroma: wheat, bread, citrus, coriander, heavy yeasty dough, leaves, banana. Palate: light body, fizzy carbonation, thin texture, abrupt sweet finish. Taste: heavy malty and sweet taste, very light notes of hoppy bitterness. Overall, very well balanced, and great in mouth feel. definately memorable and drinkable.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Very good hefe weiss. Subtle taste with lots of yeast and malt flavors. Creamy feel with soft prickly carbonation. Had a can before. From the bottle is a lot better.

4.6 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20
UPDATED: DEC 12, 2013 Pours a cloudy pale orange / amber with medium pure white head. Aroma & taste are incredibly smooth and slightly spicy. The drinkability is even higher than a light beer and goes down faster than any other beer I can remember drinking. A+ all the way around, a most excellent beer.

Cloudy dirty orange in colour. Inviting smell but not overpowering. Creamy head. A bit fruity but also a little numbing (cloves?). Left my palate feeling good. I'm not really a wheat beer fan but this is a good example.

Light semi-cloudy orange with a very nice head. Fruity aroma, tastes like a grapefruit peel. Slightly carbonated.

UPDATED: NOV 25, 2013 Thirst quenching, crisp, enjoyable and nice to look at. I'm very partial to hefeweizens so this beer gets a great score.
