Personally I prefer Franziskaner over Ayinger. To date this is my favorite Hefe I have tried and I’ve tried every Hefe I have available to me locally. I can’t but help put my nose to the lip of the glass as I pour. It’s just such a nice aroma. Since its not a stout or porter I don’t really put much into the palate aspect. EDITED: 01/01/08 I have to update this because I had the chance to drink this on draft. This was my favorite Hefe to begin with and the draft version just blew me away. The difference was outstanding. Everything was improved over the bottled versions Ive come to love. So Ill give everything at least an extra point.

From the larger bottle. Pours a hazy golden color with a significant amount of foamy head that dissolves after a bit. Yeast and something fruity in the aroma. Decent mouth feel. Overall a smooth brew and one of the better hefes out there.

Amazing that I’ve never rated this yet. Actually, hefeweizen isn’t my favorite style of beer, but it’s growing on me. Pours a very cloudy brownish-gold color, with a big, fluffy white head. Bready aroma, a touch malty. Smooth mouthfeel gives way to a balanced body with a nice yeast presence. A staple beer.

Great personality in this beer, incredible body and colour pale yellow with a huge head of white foam. Taste is perfect balance between malt and hops, the grade of the roast malt is the one. Carbonation is a bit high but it makes a refreshing beer at the same time that is is delicious,

Schiuma discreta e compatta, non svanisce all’istante, il frumento si sente bene, nessuna fastidiosa nota metallica, magari scarseggia un poco nel corpo, ma vabbè c’e’ di molto peggio.
