crowderm (154), St. Paul, Minnesota, USA Apr 5, 2008 On tap. Very nice tawny golden color in the glass, with a standard huge hefe head. The aroma is mostly of citrus, with classic hefe spice in there too. The flavor is excellent - a bit more citrus than the standard hefeweizen, otherwise a pretty straightforward (but excellent) example of the style. Palate is a little thinner than would be ideal, but is still quite smooth. Very nice beer.
mybestfriend (241), Gothenburg, Sweden Jul 22, 2008 Bottle. Pours a pale orange colour with a white head. The aroma has notes of herby yeast and some orange and banana. The flavour is light and pretty thin with notes of herby yeast, and some orange and banana. Quite watery. I’m a bit disappointed. timsilvia32 (116), born in Michigan, North Carolina, USA Jul 21, 2008 Pretty much a golden pour. Floral smell, some fruits. Nice carbonation, definete tinge of banana, light spiciness. Clean finish. Can’t get by the banana, prefer more citrus notes. I like their dunkel much better. gonzo46and2 (108), Tampa, Florida, USA Jul 21, 2008 Pours a golden orange with a cold haze in it. Pours a big rocky head that recedes almost entirely.
Smell is clean and wheaty. Light hints of banana and coriander. Also has a bit of earthy funk.
Taste is mild and slightly bitter from the hops. Refreshing.
Mouthfeel is light and metallic. The metallic finish sticks long after the beer is done.
Decent drinkability. Pershing (12), Garland, TX, Texas, USA Jul 21, 2008 This is one of my favorite German Wheat Beers. A hang-over buster. Pairs really well with pancakes. NobleSquirrel (646), Chicago, Illinois, USA Jul 20, 2008 Draft at Laschet’s in Chicago. This was quite a subdued Hefe. Nose was lightly citric and fruity, some banana and clove though more malty than anything. Taste is slightly metallic, somewhat bready, fizzy. Not as full bodied as I would like, though the caramelization is definitely there. Nice, but not my favorite.
