3.3 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
Light cloudy amber color with a nice head.
A great fruity smell with a light palate.
Good summer beer. A little sour aftertaste that I don't like.

2.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
Enormous, fizzy soda-like head that faded fairly quickly but not completely. Very pale straw color and ultra-clear with lively effervescent carbonation. Pleasing citrus, stone fruit, and yeast aromas. Flavor and palate are rather thin and watery for a hefeweizen. Lacks the nice softness of a good hefeweizen. Comparing this to the Franziskaner Hefe-weizen is a classic example of the toll that filtration takes on depth and quality. I question whether filtration purely for the sake of appeasing the superficial aesthetic sense of neophytes is a worthy endeavor for a brewery. But I guess it’s all about sales in this case… and I bought one.

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Pale golden with beautiful thick head. Sweet fruity aroma (bananas, lemons) and taste of candies and caramel. Simple and boring.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 10/20
UPDATED: AUG 29, 2008 Effervescent gold hue under a billowy white head. Bright, peppery nose replete with peach cobbler and banana cream pie. Spicy phenols tingle before bready malts and a light candy sweetness, finishing spicy still. Fluffy carbonation on a lithe, slick body.
Bright and brisk—quenching.
50 cl bottle, best before February 2009.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Pours a clear golden colour, with champagne-like carbonation, with a big fluffy white head. Apple and grassy herbal nose. Light banana, creamy, pleasant citric notes. Light bodied, extremely drinkable. Fairly impressive and flavorful for a filtered beer...I believe this is my first filtered german wheat, and it wasnt half bad...

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
The hefeweissen hell is fantastic. The dunkel is certainly ok. But why this filtered version? It lacks all the complexity i'm looking for in a beer.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Clear yellow, the filtered version of the hefeweizen. Aroma of citrus, probably because of the lemon served in my beer. Much weaker taste than the hefeweizen. Those kristalls are useless additions as the hefe always tastes better.

2.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
Pale yellow with some carbonation. Banan and malt in aroma. Smooth but quite dull flavour of brown (old) bananas. Finishes quite malty but really skunky. Don't like the Kristall-wheats.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pale golden color, lots of lace and carbonation. Spicy almost peppery yeast aroma. Smooth flavor, lightly yeasty and malty. Finish is some what dry and mildly peppery. Quite similar to other Franziskaner brews.
