3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Clear gold in color, large white head and generous lace. Nose is malt, citrus, a bit earthy, pleasant. Front is slightly sweet, the top light, the finish is nicely hopped, crisp, dry, acidic, moderate carbonation, a quite drinkable beer, but I miss the ’Chill haze’!

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
I guess I’m not one of ’those who desire a weissbier without yeast,’ although it isn’t bad at all.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Quite transparent yellow, slight effervescence with tiny bubbles. I put this in a pint glass but with the big, foamy head, it would have been better in my stein. Slightly woody wheat taste, dry and very clean finish, almost no aftertaste. One of the better wheat non-hefe beers that I’ve had.

2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Nice color, a bit sour for my taste. Gets better toward the end of the glass. Taking larger sips (not quite gulps) seem to make it more flavorful and palatable.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Almost totally like the dunkel hefe version. Perhaps a little lighter taste. Very clear color.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Thinner and drier than the hefe weizen, and not as good in my opinion.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Clear, golden, large white head. Aroma is primarily hops and wheat. Good carbonation, slight fruitiness (banana?) with just a hint of clove-like spice. Very refreshing, rather pilsner-like, I actually prefer this to most hefes, noticeably better than Edelweiss Kristall Klar.

4.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
A great kristall. Good flavor and not too dirty for a kristall weisse.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
UPDATED: DEC 30, 2004 A weissbier without yeast is like a car without an engine. OK, maybe it isn’t that bad, but I did find this beer to be lacking in the typical aroma and taste I expect from a wheat beer. The thin taste really took away from the whole experience. Clear light orange, acidic taste in addition to the light banana aroma.

3.2 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Nice, doughy flavor with a hint of banana in the finish.
A bit lacking in aroma however (I couldn’t smell the thing!)
A beautiful looking Weisse beer, enjoyable, and certainly above average.
