2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 jeverszeuge (227) - - FEB 6, 2012
# 3026

500ml bottle, 2012 edition. Aroma is light fruity, yeast. Has a light cloudy, yellow-ish appearance with a two finger white head. Light sour and sweet. Has a great fruity mouthfeel but a very short finsih. Overall a not bad Weizen. Almost like a Kristallweizen.

It’s hazy - not unclear even after rolling - golden with a white, creamy head. The aroma has notes of mild yeast, fruit and wheat. The flavor is sweet wtih notes of slightly spicy yeast, fruit, wheat and the finish is slightly spicy.
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 durhambeer (2102) - Durham, North Carolina, USA - APR 15, 2012
My friends went to Germany and said they bought me the most expensive beer in the beer store. This, apparently, was that. I take it home and drop it at soon as I enter my kitchen, and beer begins squirting out of the cap as the clock turns noon on a Sunday. I frantically open the bottle and hefeweizen is geysering out of the bottle, spraying about four feet in every direction as I put my hand over the bottle. Rookie move. I get about half of it into a glass. The beer? I can’t say I can tell a huge difference from their regular hefe. Perhaps a bit lighter? Wheaty and slighly lemony. A bit of bananas. Pretty light and slighly hazy pour. Huge white head when you drop light I did, but it resulted in a flattish pour. Light and refreshing. A good beer to drink at noon on Sunday right before you take a mentally handicapped person to go see the Three Stooges remake, which is what I did.

Rating #706, botte from a Penny Markt in Berlin
Appearance is clear golden with a nice big head. Aroma has hay and malts. Flavor with hay and pilsener-malts, and some alcohol as well. Somewhat pilsener like. Ok bitter finish. Ok beer, but boring and too pilsener-like.

Very pale yellow with a beautiful head, uneven. Has that Franziskaner thick palate which I always enjoy. I got this in Munich while staying close to the brewery. Pretty good as my 800th beer on Ratebeer.

A bit boring wheat beer when you know what this brewery else can do. Filtered wheat beer no thanks.

Bottle, 5.0%. Cloudy yellow colour. Good stable white head. The flavour is nicely malty with a good mouthfeel. Has a little yeast, but less than standard German wheat beer. OK mouthfeel.
