Bottled. A hazy red-brown beer with a thin tan head. The aroma is sweet herbal combined with lighter notes of caramel. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt and chocolate, leading to a dry herbal finish. Not clean as a brown ale should be.

Bottle, from trade with papsoe. It pours a reddish brown body under a dense, beige head. Sourish on the nose, with some solvent. Dried fruits and roasted malt as well. The flavor is burnt and roasted, with a sour twist. Actually, the sourness seems to dominate. Medium to full body. Roasted finish. Sure infected, but it seems to be a nice beer when fresh. Now, still within BB-date, it’s borderline bad. (090116)

Maria (8585) - Thisted, DENMARK - NOV 16, 2008
The beer floods out of the bottle upon opening. The color is dark red-brown and the head is creamy, and as it settles it leaves a nice surface. The aroma has sweetness and notes of nuts, heather honey, cocoa and roasted malt. The flavour has sweetness and notes of nuts, roasted malt, sweet milk chocolate, brown sugar, sugar/butter toasted oatmeal flakes and a slightly dry citrussy bitterness in the finish.

100ml sampled from tap at EBF 08. Beige head over a dark, brown body. Traces of roasted grains in aroma. Mild roastiness stays the course through a rather bland taste. Disappointing brown ale (14.09.2008).
