330 ml bottle. One finger, creamy head over a brilliant reddish-brown colored body. Low aroma level,; notes of dark malts and subdued fruits. Some skunky whiffs. Fairly dry and limited malt taste with a faint fruitiness. Slim body. Empty mouthfeel. A little malt-bitterness in the finish.

Bottle at home
Deep copper, big beige head. Smells of butter, caramel, malts and some spices. Taste is medium malty, nice sweetness and caramel. A little boring though. Some malt and hop bitterness in finish
2.1 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20 Cunningham (1942) - Halden, NORWAY - NOV 1, 2011
UPDATED: MAR 4, 2012 Bottle from local grocery store. Colour: Reddish amber colour with a smal white head. Light aroma, and a very light taste for a dark lager. And as an christmas beer, this is a complete waste.
2.1 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20 Finn (2626) - Tromsø, NORWAY - JAN 12, 2010
Flaske 0,33l mottatt som gave fra Rune. Takker. Brun på farge. OK kremaktig skum. Søt maltpreget aroma. Uvariert svakt søtlig smak med antydning til røstet malt. Tørr & fruktig bitter ettersmak. Kjedelig.
1.9 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20 Rune (5000) - Tromsø, NORWAY - DEC 18, 2009
The beer is still around, though it has not been reviewed for more than two years. I bought the 330ml bottle at Centra Colosseum in Oslo. The ABV is now 4.7% and it comes in a transparent bottle with quite a nice Yuletide label. There are, however, little improvements in aroma and flavour. Pours an initial huge, off-white head slowly fading atop of a clear, copper-brown coloured body. Faint lacing on the glass. Spare smell of slightly roasted malts. Modest taste of dry malts, partially ruined by an aftertaste of vegetables. Crisp and watered mouthfeel. Not impossible to drink (shared with Eva, Tromsø 16.12.2009).
2.1 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20 Gr0ve (1878) - Oslo, NORWAY - NOV 21, 2007
330 ml bottle. Brown colour. Clear. Tall fine-laced white head that clings to the glass. Apple aroma with a substantial münchenermalt background. Slightly oily and rather cloying apple flavour on the tongue. Butterscotch. Lightbodied, but a soft carbonation and texture makes it feel more mellow. Overall a really disappointing Christmas beer. Unbalanced and not very successful.

UPDATED: NOV 13, 2007 Red pale colour, a bit malty and maybe bitter on the end. A Juleøl worth to try, but far from being one of the best.

(Bottle 33 cl) Clear, dark, amber golden with a creamy, off-white head. Lightly caramelish nose. Fairly light body, roasted malt accents and some burned caramel. The finish is dry. 310507
2.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20 Ungstrup (23975) - Oamaru, NEW ZEALAND - JUN 2, 2007
Bottled. An amber beer with a thick off-white head. The aroma is primarily of brew mash and straw, but also with lighter notes of caramel and metal. The flavor is sweet malty with a boring metallic note and quite flat.
