COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This ale is the first brewed in Kansas since pioneering days. The name "Ad Astra comes from the Kansas State Motto - Ad Astra per Aspera, Latin words meaning "To the Stars through Difficulties". We've blended Pale, Caramel, and Munich malts for a rich amber beer. The hops balance this malty sweetness, and we've chosen Northern brewer and Fuggles hops for their flavor.

Aroma is light and slightly nutty. No hops (floral or otherwise) evident on the nose. Mouthfeel is acceptable yet very light with a quick finish. Not the greatest beer around but light refreshing and drinkable.

Good ale. Not alot of extra flavors thrown in, but a good taste of hops. Will be in my normal rotation as long as I can keep getting it around town.

Growler given to me by jckp64. Thanks John! Pour is clear rich brown with a medium tan head. Full brown color. Aroma is pure caramel malt with notes of maple, light smoke, light earth, and light wood. Really good aroma. Very clean and full. Flavor is also caramel malt with a light smokiness and a full yeasty background. Also notes of wood in the finish. This is one of the better lagers I have had. Really tasty.

Draft at the KC F.S. Dark bronze color. Sweet caramel malt aroma. Not that I’m an alt expert but this seemed to be top of the class. Really tasty and well brewed.
