Free State Council Oak Brown

COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This dark brown, malty lager uses the Märzen as a jumping off point and replaces the caramel malt of that beer with the chocolate and roast characters of Chocolate Wheat malt. After fermentation and a short period of maturation, the beer is transferred to one of our conditioning vessels and introduced to toasted oak spirals; infusing flavors of vanilla and oak tannins that knit together in harmony with the chocolate flavors from the malt. You can visit the Council Oak on your next trip to the Flint Hills. It’s at this site in what is now Council Grove, KS that in 1825 representatives from John Quincy Adams Presidential administration signed a treaty with the Osage Indians that paved the way for the Santa Fe Trail, westward expansion and ultimately "manifest destiny".
