3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Indra (2476) - Overland Park, Kansas, USA - MAY 2, 2012
On draft at the brewpub. Estery, sweet aroma, with notes of banana, cotton candy, brown sugar and a hint of spice. Light-medium red-brown color with a lasting, foamy, off-white head and gobs of sticky lacing. Flavor is fairly sweet throughout, with more brown sugar, spice and fruitiness to be found, along with banana, clove and some faint alcohol very late. Not much in the way of bitterness here. Surprisingly effervescent and bubbly on the palate, very gently acidic, with a medium body. Lacking somewhat in complexity compared to some Old World examples of the style particularly, but good if you are looking for an everyday, easy-drinking type of Dubbel. One to have after dinner, not before.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 beastiefan2k (2082) - Lawrence (formely NYC), Kansas, USA - DEC 28, 2008
Taster @ the brewpub. Clor is clear brown. Aroma is disappointing right away, too young, too green, just out of control spiky esters. Taste is the same, comes off as a sweet colvent like flavor. They needed to let this one sit.
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Gregis (1270) - Shawnee, Kansas, USA - DEC 14, 2008
Growler shared by csbosox. Pours a hazy reddish-brown with a thin beige skin at the surface. The nose is of fruity, round malt, toffee and an "old" dustiness. Medium-bodied and silky, almost flat, with a mineral finish. It is a decent dubbel, but it is a far cry from their best beers. Thanks for sharing this with us, Chris.
2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 heemer77 (5013) - Urbandale, Iowa, USA - DEC 8, 2008
On tap at the brewpub. The body was dark copper with a medium khaki head. The aroma was sweet and herbal. There were also some woody notes. The taste was dry wood and leather. Some light donut sweetness with a spicy finish. This hit me in the wrong way.
3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 theisti (2822) - Leawood, Kansas, USA - DEC 4, 2008
Growler filled at the brewpub, supplied by csbosox. Pour is clear ruby cordovan brown with a 1/2 inch off white head. Aroma of Belgian yeastiness, some wheat, some bananas, touch of spicy clove. Taste is the nose for the most part, but with a nice resin graininess. Palate has a nice lasting clove spiciness to it. Overall a decent attempt at a Dubbel.
