COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This hoppy celebration of the season balances the bold, citrus and floral flavors of Amarillo, Centennial and Citra hops with biscuit-like, toasty flavors from fine English malts. Deep red, medium-bodied, yet dry to the finish, this holiday ale is the perfect winter warmer for those that prefer hoppy, bold IPAs.

Pours a mostly translucent amber with golden notes and a medium creamy off white head. Aroma of citrus, pine, floral notes along with a touch of caramel and toasted malts. Flavor of pretty much the same citrusy/piney and floral character complimented nicely with a lightly toasted and caramel malt backbone. A bit drier than some of the Free State IPA’s. Also a slightly clearer ferment. I really enjoyed this beer and look forward to a few more before it kicks.

I’m beginning to come around to the idea that IPAs can be Christmasy, especially when the have rich citrus, pepper, and floral character like this. I had this beer on two occasions before it was tapped out in Dec. 2012.

On tap at the brewery. Comes clear amber with a small white head. Aroma of citrus, florals, and malt. Taste is caramel malt, lemons, and florals. Nice seasonal? Nice IPA for sure.

Arma is citrus with intriguing companion malt input of a certain biscuity ness. This beer is brown and red and pretty clear with little head. Taste is very citrus hoppy with a spicy biscuity malt with a hint of chocolate. Kind of all over the place, but hefty and interesting as a winter warmer meets iPa.

Shaker pint draft at the Brewpub in Lawrence, Kansas. The pour is clear amber brown with a smallish off white head. The aroma is leafy grassy bright hop bitterness, nice dose of toasted malt under the hops. The taste is the leafy hops of the nose, nice round bitterness, the toast and caramel malt grain is present, then it turns back to the bitter leafy dry finish. The palate is medium bodied with a low carbonation level. Nice balanced and leafy IPA.
