Bottle from Bob - thanks! Pours black with a ring of tan foam and steady carbonation. Nice aroma with dense, fudge chocolate, roast, light coffee, and some heavier dark fruit aspects with a trailing edge of hop bitterness. Taste is heavy on the roast with chocolate and raisin notes. Also seems like molasses with hop bitterness. Smooth, coating mouthfeel. Straight ahead imperial stout - very nice.

Bottle. Pours black with a thin dark brown head that dissipates quickly to the edges quickly. Aroma has notes of dark fruits and roasted malts with a bit of pine hops and some underlying chocolate (plus a hint of booze. Flavor has roasted malts and bitter chocolate up front with a bit of underlying pine hops and booze.

Smells mostly of roasted malts, coffee and chocolate smells. Taste has a hint of hop bitterness at the finish, but not overwhelming. Mouthfeel and carbonation are very smooth.

Nice appearance - has quite a bit of head and lots of lacing. Aroma a bit weak for an impy - not much beyond some cocoa. Surprisingly light-bodied as well - I would not expect this to be an impy based on mouthfeel - it seems more like a regular stout. Mostly cocoa flavors with some bitterness - not getting the coffee notes so common to this style. Overall, it’s not a bad beer, but it does not have the bolder, more complex flavors typical of impy stouts.

thanks to the beastie for this .. . deep brown .. medium foam, light lacing .. . mild roast, some grounds, and mild burnt hop .. . mild mouth .. not overly complex or interesting .. . . yeah. nothing gets hurt, except feelings.

2/22/13. RBWG thanks to beastiefan2k. Black pour with a small tan head. Nice stout aromas with roasted malts, coffee, cocoa, and a touch of sweetness. Rich flavor with plenty of roasted malt, dry cocoa, touches of coffee and more roast, and more. Tasty!
