Bottle at RBWG 2013. Pours black-brown with a fine, beige cream head. Basic dark malt nose, some earth, dry cocoa. Medium sweet flavor, some further earthy bitterness, burnt bread. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Moderately sweet finish, pretty bitter, some earth, burnt grass, bittersweet cocoa. Not too sweet. Decent.

Pours a deep almost black with a creamy tan head that left sticky lacing. Aroma of roasted malt, toffee, nuts, dark chocolate and hints of coffee. Flavor of roasted malt, caramel, nuts, toffee and dark chocolate.

The beer is dark brown with a long lasting beige head that leaves random traces of lacing on the glass. The aroma offers dark roast, malt. The flavor brings hints of coffee and finishes dry, with notes of bitter chocolates. While I wasn’t blown away by this, I thought this was a decent beer. Worth a try.

Bottle. Poura black with a little cream colored head. Aroma is faint chocolate and malts with a flavor to match. Meh.

Dark reddish brown with a small tan head. Coffee grounds, cocoa and molasses with a lightly bitter finish.

Bottle poured a clear dark reddish brown with a small lingering tan head. Aromas of roastiness, light dark chocolate and light vanilla. Palate was medium bodied and smooth. Flavors of roastiness, bitter chocolate and earthiness with a smooth lingering roasty finish.

Pours very dark brown. Nice medium chalky chocolatey taste and a medium dry mouthfeel.

Poured into a perfect pint.
3.0 A: Black color. Only 1/3 of a finger of creamy light brown head formed.
3.5 S: Moderately high roastiness, molasses, caramel, and light coffee. Pronounced hoppiness featuring citrusy orange and flowery earthiness.
3.5 T: Moderately roasty. Molasses, caramel, and coffee in that order. Fairly dry overall. Higher potency bitterness coming mainly from the hops. Citrus and earthy hop flavor.
3.0 M: Medium body. Moderate, though bity, carbonation. Lacking creaminess.
3.0 D: I’m not a huge fan of hoppy stouts and this is one. The mouthfeel is also pretty mediocre.

Very dark brownish red color, brown head. Sweet, malty scent, also hops. Sweet, hoppy taste. Medium mouthfeel, medium high bitterness.

Small cream colored head. Hoppy malt and coffee ground smell. Bitter taste with coffee grounds and a bit of chocolate after taste. Not very complex, and not a great imperial overall.
