Mahogany/dark amber color. Filtered. Nice carbonation, a slight yet uneven head and some rather thick lacing. The aroma is very slightly fruity, but is mostly hoppy. I believe the recipe for this brew has changed slightly, as in the description above it is stated that only E. Kent Goldings are used, whereas on the menu last night the mix was noted to be Goldings, Fuggles, and Victory. Anyhoo, there is a certain caramel sweetness to this beer, along with the same slight fruitiness found in the aroma. This beer has great balance. The hoppy flavors come in right at the right time. Medium-bodied beer. Finish is quite smooth, with a slightly spicy aftertaste. O.G. - 1058, 50 IBUs.

Very nice tatse of hops in this ESB. Finish is very smooth. The here is very good to and goes well with the beers!!

This is a fine beer, but as the commercial description implies, this really is not that different from Copperhead. A bit too citric in character to be a proper English ESB. BTW, the hops recipe has changed: They use Fuggles and Horizon hops now.

I don't like the sour edge this one seemed to have. It goes beyond bitter and tart, into the nether regions of sour. I like the Copperhead more, the hops in that brew seem to be better balanced.
