COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This light-bodied straw-colored ale takes its name from Japanese folklore and its unique hop flavors (lemon, dill) from the coveted, Japanese grown, Sorachi Ace hop. The Kasa-Obake is a strange apparition in Japanese folklore with one eye and one leg that springs to life from an umbrella once it turns 100 years old. The beer finishes with a crisp effervescence and flavors of pineapple, lemon, and dill following a dry-hopping with Centennial hops.

Mild, but very pleasant kolsch. Golden, dry, with a bready crisp backbone. Nice head.

Pours a translucent golden with a medium white head. Aroma of citrus and cereal grains. Flavor the same. Crisp and dry. Really enjoyed this kolsch

Draft, at the brewpub. Lightly sweet, fruity aroma, with hints of soda cracker, honey, orange peel, faint spice, herbal, leafy hop, and some tropical fruit in the background, mainly pineapple. Clear, very light golden color, with a fine, uneven head and some spectacular lacing. Flavor profile is also full of orange, citrus and fruity sweetness throughout, with a light, peppery hop flavor and mild bitterness (far in excess of that usually seen for this style, though), more spiciness and pale, grainy, lightly sweet maltiness here as well. Light and effervescent on the palate, body is light-medium. Refreshing and interesting, certainly nothing like any other Kölsch I have had thus far.

On tap at the brewpub. Comes a somewhat cloudy pale gold with a small white head. Aroma of citrus, grass, and spice. Taste is lemon bread, spice, and florals. Light and refreshing.
