Full body and a well rounded flavor comes from a foundation of seven different grains. The oats add a special silky texture that complements the roasted malts. The rich malty flavor is spiced with plenty of Northern Brewer and Fuggles hops for balance.

Received in a trade -- Poured into a pint glass. Shows up as an opaque brown/black, with small white bubbles. Aroma is faint molasses and wood. The taste starts out with a roast coffee, that fades to Chocolate and toffee. Very drinkable Stout with a creamy smoothness throughout.

12oz bottle pours with a dark body that supports a thin dark tan head. The aroma offers up dark roasted malts, a bit of burnt malts, some spicy black licorice and then sweet smelling blueberry jam and cherries. The taste starts with a pleasing modest richness that delivers sweet malts, some dark roasted malts, chocolate and then sweet prunes and cherry like fruity esters. It gets a tad spicy here and there with a black licorice type note. Pretty nice stuff.

12oz bottle, purchased from Lukas Liquor in Missouri during my RBSG stay. Best by notch seems to indicate the 4th week of July. Dark brown color, kind of clear around the edges. Half finger of light brown / off-white head. Leaves good, thicker lace. Medium plus body. Good smooth lighter carbonation, nice chewy texture. Very lightly slick finish. Nice oatmeal flavor, light dark chocolate, cocoa, light bit of coffee, good mild roast, light coffee, and a nice bit of earthy hop balance. Very good, flavorful balanced oatmeal stout. Moderate bitter taste, Lighter to moderate sweet. Very solid, tasty, satisfying well-done balanced oatmeal stout. Was great to enjoy with my sandwich lunch.

Pours a dark brown to black with a finger tan head that quickly fades to a foam. Aromas of roasty chocolate, some dark fruits. Taste is sweet but fairly well balanced. Finished slightly dry. Medium mouth feel and carb.

A very decent oatmeal stout. One of the better of the standard bottled offerings from Free State. Rich maltyness with a smooth thick body.

The appearance of this beer is a very, very dark brown color that is opaque due to its darkness, and it has a small tan head that fades quickly. The aroma blends roasted, caramel, and chocolate malts with vanilla, and the flavor is a nice blend of mild umami, slight sourness, slight malt bitterness, and a touch of sweetness. The mouthfeel has a thin texture, medium-light body, soft carbonation, and a malty finish.

An ok beer. I would say average or a hair above for an oatmeal stout. But no need to buy again any time soon. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Dark brown pour from a 12oz bottle with a nice tan head. Nose is roasted malts. Nice and easy to drink with a pleasant roasted malt and slight bitter chocolate finish.

Pour is a black with a small tan head. Aroma is a nice roast with a ever so slight hop presence. Flavor is a nice oatmeal roast with a bit of pine hops. The roasted oatmeal malt really shines here. The hop additions make this even better.
